Colombian. All of this (and actual popular vote) except for mandatory voting. Don't know what the US is doing.
Actually, it should be Venezuela sanctioning the US for how undemocratic and unreliable their elections are, not the other way around.

Biden is in fact not reluctant. His act is that he is, though, and both that act and his decision to make shipping of weapons to Israel soare warrant open criticism, including in the form of satire and caricature.

And José Andrés was correctly chosen. You can't say that his killing is as absurd as unlikely. Not now that his staffers who are basically other chefs José Andrés were killed so bluntly. Each feature of this story helps to drive its point home.
It's good to worry about empty satire, but this is not.

You're then confronted with the question of why Biden calling Sánchez to ask for Spanish authorisation of an illegal and pointless bombing in Spain is absurd, but the same thing in Jordan, which was asked to authorize planes to enter its airspace to kill Syrian civilians just three days ago, is not.

It adds a lot. Israel uses this exact thought process to justify bonbings, mainly of civilians, not only in Gaza but also in Southern Lebanon and Syria. An assassination of chef José Andrés, endorsed by a reluctant Biden, is so clearly absurd it sheds light on other instances of this same absurdity.

It doesn't have to exaggerate. It can prompt serious thought by signaling how credible something like this is instead of exaggerating to a point where we're relieved that the tale will never happen and just laugh along.
