No one wants a paper trail because spending funds Congress has not appropriated is colloquially known as “stealing from the US Treasury.”

Rahm Emanuel covered up the murder of a Black teen, and shuttered public clinics and schools. Cuomo covered up COVID nursing home deaths and harassed women. These men heard "now is the time of monsters" and decided to attempt a comeback. They both belong in hell.

Hey #adopteesky Let's rally around this fellow adoptee and remind Jonah that he's not alone. Let's affirm to him that his life matters. Let's show him that the adoptee community supports him! www.gofundme.com/f/help-jonah...

Non-political post of the day: we got a Litter Robot. Took over a week for all three cats to adapt but now that they have it’s glorious. Love it. Total game changer.

If a private law firm took a significant number of cases and then cut its staff so it couldn't manage them, the Judge would show no sympathy. If a corporation couldn't afford the legal fees from a bunch of products liability claims, we wouldn't deny the injured plaintiffs relief. 1/

If you’ve ever amplified Sally Albright do me a favor and read this thread. If you don’t see the problem with her afterward, then just admit you’re no better than jackass MAGA ilk.

Evergreen.

I feel as if we're capable of acknowledging that a one-day boycott is mostly symbolic without becoming contemptuous and dismissive of people finding a little meaning and comfort in such a symbol. The scorn seems petty.

But this white woman was *not* disconnected from politics. She was very invested in politics, she paid attention to the campaign and she voted for Trump because she thought it would benefit her personally.

Terrific thread, that will fire your brain up (in a way an LLM could never understand.)

Tate is like Trump in this sense: the most grotesque thing is not that he exists, but that he’s hugely popular, and what that says about us as a species.

There is a belief in MAGAland that the private sector will just fund this stuff. For example, Sean Hannity said that “most of the solutions for cancer are going to be found in the private sector, not with public money.” But thats simply not true.

I think about this headline all of the time.

My husband has a genetic predisposition to pancreatic cancer (the same predisposition that's given him an aggressive prostate cancer). This research is lifesaving. And this administration wants to kill it.

We're on the cusp of a quantum leap very much approaching in practical terms "the cure for cancer," and the official position of the US government will be you can't have it because a sex pest grifter thinks the vibes are bad.

Firing 50% of government workers won’t make a dent in the budget deficit but it should do a fantastic job of reducing tax revenue & Social Security contributions

A short tale of cancer treatment in the US: My husband arrived for radiation session 38 of 39 this morning. RadOnc has already been paid almost $30K between us and insurance for his treatment over two months. They handed him a post it note as he checked in indicating a balance of $485.

Several scientists quoted explaining why this sucks, all much more articulate than my initial "fuck these motherfuckers" response.

House Republicans just voted to gut Medicaid, which covers 1 in 5 Americans overall, including 41% of births and 63% of nursing home care. They also just voted to gut SNAP, on which 41 million food insecure Americans rely. This won’t just harm people. This will kill people. They own this.

"Savannah Dowell, a junior who is majoring in history and gender studies, said, 'Everything that I’ve studied is being attacked. It’s very, very hostile and not a great environment to be a student in.” wapo.st/41hFfol

It is truly amazing how no one seems to give a shit in media about how young women around the world are becoming ever more left wing.

The 1923 Oregon legislature was colloquially known as the "Klan legislature" because the majority of members were either Klan members or sympathizers. One bill they passed required that history education be suitably patriotic, outlawing materials that spoke "slightingly" of the founders.

Ok Bluesky friends- are others as cold to this season of The White Lotus as I am? Right now I’m so bored I’m not sure I want to bother continuing. Plus Parker Posey’s wretched accent grates so bad I almost can’t get through her scenes.

my dad was a diabetic who was uninsured for most of his adult life and often couldn’t get the meds and treatments he needed to control his disease. we never voted the same way. but that doesn’t mean he deserved to die at 67. some of you sound just as broken as the people you want to beat.

people doing this shit do not have a cogent theory of change. that is the nicest thing I can say about them

Reminds me of a Shakespeare quote about lawyers normally misinterpreted by the masses….

in the trump administration, “merit” is pronounced “white” like how strom thrumond said it.

I swear to fucking god if the NCAA inspects my DI daughter’s genitals I will cut a bitch.

This is down the street from where my husband works. Horrifying.

Y'all my baby is the picture below. So proud of their team.

They voted for bad things to happen to other people is the truest read of the situation

this is kind of a remarkable thread from a governor

This is the most pathetic yet utterly predictable shit ever. Dems are doomed.

From the ironically named publication “Reason.”

#Adoptee here. The very idea of a registry of infant suppliers—of breeders for baby buyers—is fascism. Coercing people to relinquish to strangers the children they were forced to give birth to does not redress the injustice of forcing births; it compounds the injustice.

I guess the only real question here is whether Chad *realizes* that he doesn't still work for the Trump administration in DOJ.
