I don’t know a lot about prospects but, from what I’ve read, Spence seems solid. Like the choice a lot.
Gonchar may be a wildcard, since the biggest knock on the 19 y/o is that he’s undersized. Anyone can bulk up. His maturation process will be one to watch given his skillset.

Had this conversation with a colleague today. University students using AI to write their papers is bad *not* because the AI is inherently bad but because it robs the user of the learning process.

I don’t like it either. I think it’s poor strategy to try and bank on something that is a long shot, while diminishing a roster that severely underperformed last season (minus Kreider, plus no one). Even if it’s incremental, Drury should always seek to improve.

Yeah, Brooks was teasing about *next year’s* free-agency/draft and hinted next year’s first rounder might be more valuable as a TDL asset to facilitate a blockbuster trade.
Sounds like kickin the can down the road, to me, tho. Unless there is some wink/nod deal for McDavid, this is poor strategy.

I like to use it as a re-direction when I don’t find the point a person is trying to make is relevant. I throw it out as a sort of, “let’s put this stupid thought on the fridge so we can discuss what we need to.” Let’s a person feel validated with a metaphorical pat on the head and “moving on.”
