Canadians showed him the door, and he uses it as a backdrop.

Pretty sure he was just there to wipe out evidence of cheating and take the teeth of the jaws of justice that were threatening to regulate and hold accountable his financial endeavors. So he's not broke and going to jail and he's not being deported. Is a dearth of accountability really a win?

Funny, for me the right sees my opinion, calls me 'leftist' and thinks they know my position on everything and puts me down for not only my actual stated opinion, but the whole 'leftist' box of opinions. I guess tribalistic thinking is independent of the political spectrum.

AI is: -pushed on the population -hugely resource intensive -a large polluter -killing jobs, which means we need a new system to allocate resources to the populace so they can access the necessities of life -stealing our art, words, culture In short, it's pillaging the populace without our consent.

Okay, @davidebybc.bsky.social , between this article and this other one: bsky.app/profile/thet... I thought the left was about public resources and looking out for the collective good, among other things. That means properly funding health and education at least. Can you please get your bearings ?

A big problem is, you won't be able to google for US recalls because there won't be any, but it won't be because nothing will merit it. Remember when Trump thought it would be best if they stopped reporting on Covid because the numbers were making them (and him) look bad? It's that but with food.

I saw a great video recently about ways Canada Post can find its niche and stay relevant: youtu.be/rkD2gXZwUEc?...

Support the creation of housing Co-Ops like they did in the 80s and 90s ! Preserve affordable housing … take commodification out of housing.

I feel like if there were a credible offer for 'I'll give you a million bucks to do that salute' a bunch of people would decline but also keep on posting on X. I'm wondering what exactly is their price because clearly they have one and it's getting paid. Posting on X = attending this clown's circus.

we put dolls in girls' hands and robot toys in boys' hands and I guess this is what happens when they grow up. if we stopped doing this to our kids I bet we would stop seeing this in adults.

Meh it makes it easier to avoid buying US products. If it doesn't, then you know the grocers are gouging you.

This should be a campaign sign all over a certain Alberta riding.

lol whoopsie this was an embryo of an 80 yr old (I think that's when people acquire a taste for black liquorice?)

There's a difference between a party leader (PP) and Leader of the Opposition (AS). *Usually* these two positions are occupied by the same person, but not always. This is in fact the thirteenth time this has not been the case. www.ourcommons.ca/MarleauMontp...
comment in response to post
because he's the party leader and half the country feels they represent them. Scheer isn't the party leader, he's just PP's mouthpiece in the house.

I wonder if that guy in the picture went home feeling proud of himself.

I think their voters are telling them 'this hurts, bring back the Canadian tourists' and since it is difficult to convince the actual cause of the problem to change his mind, they are instead just trying to ask us directly.

She's still getting in little snipes here and there. Like how the PM is late again so maybe he's not as punctual as she thought, even though she conceded earlier that it wasn't in Carney's hands that it started late.
comment in response to post
Hopefully Carney's answer is this but in diplomacese

The guy already has a lifetime compliance agreement with Elections Canada. Shouldn't he be, oh I don't know, being careful?

Or the idea that you could be scooped up off the street and 'deported' to some foreign prison, or held in 'custody' for who knows how long for no reason at all. Sorry, no thank you.

Loblaws stores in my neighbourhood have been craftily trying to trick or entice consumers into buying American. Produce that is in a bin that says "Product of Canada" but the stickers on them say USA. No Name not saying on the package where the product is from. "Your offers" trending American. etc.

I think politicians *should* have to live in the riding they are running in. And not only if they win, but to be on the ballot at all. Maybe even for x amount of time before the election is called (6 months maybe?).
comment in response to post
That would be hilarious, actually.

nope, a certain billionaire does not deserve my participation on his website, so I've been off that site for about half a year. and honestly my mental health has been all the better for it.

WAIT. WAIT. HOLD ON. Does this mean the apple emojis are back on the menu? 🍎🍏

I have to wonder, what on earth did Carney say, ever, that would make them think he would do either of those things?

The best part of him not having a seat is going to be not having to hear him in the HoC.

The most incredible are the legions of people who lap that stuff up.

yes obviously, it's on their truck wraps, the shirts on their backs, their flags, their hashtags, their hats, their tattoos...

I hope someone brings you coffee and donuts if you do.

It would be great if all the sock puppet MPs in that party suddenly grew spines and turned their backs to him and refused to give up their seats.

I think a BARE MINIMUM should be that the candidates have to agree to be candidates - what do these people mean they don't even know they are on the list?

If you really can't figure out which Canadians he is targeting with phrases like "leftist tears", then this isn't a conversation worth having with you.
comment in response to post
No... he's clearly being derisive toward specific Canadians. He's clearly pitting people against each other. This is divisive. This isn't difficult.
comment in response to post
I mean, it seems divisive to me
