April #WestKnits #socks finished, May now in progress and much more fun to #knit 🧶

The quiet delight of leaving work at 1pm on a Friday for a last minute afternoon's leave that nobody else knows about 😌 4hrs to leisurely DO things rather than just hurriedly get them done. Space to breathe.

The matching outfits! 😂 I inhaled my tea laughing, those two absolutely deserved each other and everything they inflicted and received #MAFSAU #Jacqui #Ryqn

One of *those* work days when a year of prep goes live, lots of moving parts. Also my brother's 50th, so wanted to give that time. Then 'Don't panic but I'm in hospital' from Mum. And all actually turned out fine 🙏 Felt like a black hole at 9am, but chilled & happy by 9pm. How rare are those days?

who isn’t having some these days

Friend asked if I could 'Repair Shop' a 60+ yr old teddy, my most challenging #knit project ever! Stuffed w foam/dust that'd been thru washing machine 🥴 Knitter wasn't a sewer. Unpicked, vacuumed, repaired, restuffed, resewn, +scarf ☺️. Owner overjoyed, 2 even more challenging toys to go! 🧶 #KnitSky

Best explanation I've seen yet.

March #WestKnits #socks done, but a bit deviated from pattern - I liked the teeth pattern too much (and disliked the chevrons enough) to end at heel so I swapped sides for more triangles. Not keen on April pattern but determined to stay disciplined! 🧶 #KnitSky #Knitting

Love the internet. Chatting with my niece about 'an odd headache' & able to work out it was an aural migraine thanks to images people have made showing how it 'looks'. When I had my first one (at same age) I couldn't describe it enough, but I sent an image & she said 'how do you know that's me?!' ❤️

Scrutinising the TV to spot an actual authentic tear ever leaving either of Jacqui's eyeballs. She has to keep saying "Don't do X while I'm crying" just to make sure the noises aren't mistaken for a slightly extended sneeze. Ryan deserves her. #MAFSAus #MAFSAU

Sunday afternoon fun, holiday's end 🪩

I've watched two episodes Of #Adolescence and it's remarkable. Aside from the gripping storyline and great acting, the logistics behind the single-shot episodes are just beyond my comprehension, fantastic TV 📺 www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio...

Snort-laughed in public at "not Kelvedon" as you read my thoughts. Got everyone in my south east Essex office listening to this now, and they're all debating where the roundabout might be. Loving it! #BrokenVeil

Finished ☺️🧶 #KnitSky #Socks #WestKnits

Yes! Last night I thought 'Ooh, Wednesday - Broken Veil tomorrow.' which means I'm locked in now, and I have 'sitting down and listening' time set aside this evening #BrokenVeil

Significant struggles with thumb pain/hand weakness really slowed down my crafting the last few weeks, not wanting to revisit the 3x nerve decompressions of 10+ years ago. Slowly restarting, big-up ChiaoGoo pins for comfort, I think my tiny wood sticks were the problem! Progress at last 😌🧶 #KnitSky

Survivor, but for selecting the new Pope.

'It was a completely random colour scheme!' she thought (truthfully), as she pulled her knitting into her lap... 🧶 #KnitSky #socks 😆

Progress on the February socks, wasn't sure about the pattern but committed to the year of Westknits patterns. Colour choice turning out ok I think and it's an enjoyable knit 🧶 Bonus, my Christmas cactus seeds are sprouting!

...and a new pair of socks is underway! You know you're getting older when a strong weekend's knitting results in a week off the pointy sticks with sore thumbs. Apparently continental style isn't for me so back to throwing for a less speedy but more comfortable knit.

So far up I'm above the lights! Nabbed a ticket for Greg Davies Full Fat Legend warm up gig, not a bad Monday evening ☺️

Second finished project of the year - a pair of Stephen West socks. Now revisiting a project I hibernated last year when I couldn't work out what I'd done wrong with the short rows - frogged today and restarted 🧶 #KnitSky #Knitting

Really enjoying these Stephen West socks! I'm a toe-up, 2 at a time sock knitter so this modular construction has been an interesting way to break the habit - still doing both at once though, 2nd sock syndrome is real! 😄🧶 #KnitSky

When you can hear a picture.

4km of yarn in double crochet (UK, single crochet US), views of each half, about 280cm, a blanket scarf I guess. Needs a wash and block, colour fade looks much better in natural light, never doing that again! 🧶 #crochet

Well I received a pre-planned Xmas gift today. I forgot it was coming but knew it needed 'fridge space'. The post-lady said 'it's a heavy one!', she wasn't kidding. 1.6kg Welsh cheese has ruined 'moderate January'. Smells incredible thru the vac-packs. I will feast on cheese 🧀 deets in alt text
