Technically some birds can fly backwards for a second or two when faced with danger but hummingbirds are the only ones that can do it for more than a few seconds. And you are correct about the red dye!

Just two juveniles but we did find the mom further down the creek presumably looking for food for the young ones.

I have suet about 2 feet away from the hummingbird feeder so the swarms of bushtits never bother our Anna's hummingbirds.

Yes. You may need to be added by the admin but he was on top of it when I first used the hashtag. I'm still relatively new to this so I don't know all the ins and outs yet

Hi Chuck! I recognize your name from various Facebook groups (I rarely post on FB anymore). Bluesky has been great so far. It's a lot like Twitter except not toxic. One tip I have is to use #birds if you aren't already
