That does sounds like something one might say when they don't actually listen to it regularly.

I've had to stop it 4x already. Idk how I'm going to finish it. The 2nd hand embarrassment is killing me.

Works both ways, my friend. I'm a beanbag chair, too. All the ladies need some love. 😆

Your response actually proves what I've been saying. People around the country truly do not know the amount of devastation that occurred in western NC, parts of TN, and parts of SC. It was massive, and it was barely a story.

Helene left 200 dead & an estimated 200,000 ppl without homes. It's estimated that it will take decades to rebuild, if ever in some areas. Entire towns are completely gone. The AMOUNT of damage was catastrophic there as well. I don't care about state sizes. I care about people. The story isn't over.

Just stop.

You truly look heartless. I never once said LA got enough. I didn't ask them to share their resources or stop gathering funds. I didn't say they shouldng get federal aid or even comment to a celebrity. This is a news article! I responded to the press! What the hell do you not understand about this?

But I hope that if the story resurfaces, we can attempt to put more pressure on the administration to continue FEMA aid and fund disaster relief. Trump trashed Biden for not helping while he was actually on the ground in NC and approving federal aid. He, himself, has of course done nothing.

Agreed, but we can't leave those people in the freezing cold in tents while they figure it out. FEMA was placing people in temporary homes as they could. Those with insurance got the shaft bc most ppl in the mountains don't have hurricane coverage since no one ever saw this coming.

Where did I ask celebrities to donate? I'm asking for attention, press, media coverage. Entire towns were wiped away. There are bodies buried in mudslides that will never be recovered. People just moved on like it was nothing. Case in point, you appear to care so little you'd rather talk # than ppl

Receiving donated items? Yes. But the government has lots of requested aid that will now go unanswered from this administration, especially as it works to dismantle FEMA. And a surplus of donated items is wonderful, but it doesn't build homes. They need shelters and houses.

People need help from coast to coast!

No one is putting the story out there for continued monetary donations and support. Locally, (SC, TN, and other parts of NC) still donate and deliver items, but there is no national coverage. There's barely regional coverage. I'm trying to keep the story out there and spread the word.

You've entirely missed my point. The LA fires are a national story that has and will continue to get much more coverage, as it should. NC did not get the same press, and many of those people have been living in tents since September.

That part I absolutely agree with, but I also know the government was helping through their usual channels, and federally, FEMA was very active in the area helping people. Now that Trump is trying to dismantle it and withhold funding from states, I worry for them.

I didn't pit them against each other. I'm asking ppl to pay attention to something for more than 10 damn seconds. We as a nation have the attention span of a damn fruit fly.

I'm here, and yes they are. I drive by piles of downed trees and houses that were obliterated to get to work everyday, and I'm not even in NC, I'm in SC. It's way worse for them. Like I said, I wish ALL the assistance necessary to everyone in LA.

I've literally already talked about that concert. I paid my $ to watch it even though I didn't have to because I'm in the affected zone so I know all about it, but that's it and not enough. LA has several active charities going on. They had this concert and the Grammys. NC has been forgotten.

First of all, there's no state in the country that votes 100% one way or the other. We as a country cannot leave people to struggle, freeze, and starve just because their neighbors voted differently. Second of all, they have a democratic governor so even if your point was valid, it still isn't.

Luke Combs and Eric Church, who are both country artists from NC did put together a charity concert that sold out. They did their part. But the LA fires have been a much bigger story across the entire country because of the Hollywood glitz and glam. NC was just forgotten, and it's not ok.

I very much wish all the aid and assistance that's needed to every LA fire victim, but please tell me where this energy was for the Hurricane Helene victims? People in North Carolina ARE STILL DISPLACED. They went through freezing winter temps in tents! They need help, too. It was catastrophic.

A phone call is not enough action. Where are the lawsuits? Occupy the damn offices!

They back him by a large margin. That's not going to happen unless Payless Putin comes out and says he's against Elon. Maybe they'd go after him, but not Don the Con.

We are calling out democrats because we're getting exactly what we expected from Republicans, but the Democrats are supposed to do better. They are not! They aren't living up to their end of the deal, and they absolutely deserve to hear about it. They MUST take action against this administration.

These people have been without homes or any personal comforts since September! They went through harsh winter temperatures in tents! Give everyone in LA all the help they need, but please show up for everyone in crisis. Don't forget them. This country has the attention span of a fruit fly!
