I really hope resources like this continue to get shared to the people who can use it, and help people/journalists liaise better. One of the scariest things rn is how little the average person knows about what's happening + how much it will all affect their own lives & communities

Yay I'm glad!! Although I wonder if I'm a bad example for my librarians, I can tend toward some more niche bookish tastes 😄

Hard same, I LOVE miscommunication in fiction. The only time it annoys me is when it's shoehorned in for tension with characters who would *normally* be good at speaking to each other directly/talking things out. I've seen that a few times to fuel 3rd act breakups. But if it's in character I love it

Saw this post with a ton of artist replies the other day. Hope you can find someone you like, if you haven't already! bsky.app/profile/pair...

And at the same time they're dismantling the social safety net!? If it's always "about the economy, stupid," this has the potential to be one of the worst politician-shoots-themselves-in-the-foot moves in US history. Just so long as the new cycle doesn't move so fast most people forget :/

I feel like I must just follow the right/wrong feeds or only follow chill people, because same! Sometimes I'll hear people say Bsky culture is bad and I just wouldn't even begin to know how to find the discourse most days

Fantasy world with Gothic aesthetic? Sounds perfect!

Agreed. Unfortunately I think a lot more people internalize what they learn from stories over what they were supposed to learn about history

Yeah, it's uncanny, in retrospect; how much Republic-era Star Wars is one of the only pieces of mainstream media to predict what the rise of fascism could look like

Oh and this absolutely goes for reporters and mainstream news orgs, too

Also this might be a good place for writers to rec books/themselves/to network. Maybe work on stuff like promo swaps, etc? Help build a space for this reader community to develop and find what they're looking for

Wow 😦

Oh no!! That's going to be such a massive loss to the community! And all over one author who's a legit Nazi??

The article isn't long and is worth a read. It's not a half bad idea actually. Sounds like if it could work, it could save freedom of information on the internet, + cut down on energy waste maybe? Not sure individual content creators like artists, writers, etc, would get much individual control tho

Especially the few of us who were on twitter/witnessed him every day in a way most ppl elsewhere did not. It will suck to revisit, because we lived with the stress of it every day in a way most others didn't. But our experience of how he operated is uniquely invaluable now.

Which one thousand percent makes sense, it was a deadly and terrifying time. It's only natural! But if we can't get back into that headspace & remember, we're doomed to always be one step behind him.
