The government funds will be used in part for parking for the stadium, and every single above ground parking spot will be an absolute waste of valuable space that limits residential and mixed use redevelopment.

Drivers always want cyclists to act like cars but y’all don’t actually want to treat us like cars. You want to pass without changing lanes. You want to turn right on red around us. You act like you don’t have to yield to traffic in a bike lane before crossing the bike lane.

Yeah like whoops, we can’t afford to have our local police doing any work for the federal government.

I already vote against biglaw partners and prosecutors in DC Bar elections, so no changes to my voting strategy needed!

As has been pointed out, GOP oversaw the worst national security (9/11), foreign policy (Iraq), disaster response (Katrina), economic (2008 crash) and public health (COVID) crises of our lifetimes. Voters would have to be absolutely nuts to repeatedly put that party back in power, right?

which is why it is important not to concede ahead of time that trump can just rewrite the constitution. in a very literal sense he can only do that if we let him do it

the constitution is a public and political document as much as a legal one and constitutional meaning is a public and political process. trump can say X but other political institutions, and the nation’s various publics, have to agree for it to mean anything

Last year it took so long for a shuttle to show up that I called an uber from metro center home instead. I’ll take the weekend closures.

Yeah getting off the train, on a shuttle, off a shuttle, and back on a new train is inconvenient by itself and then you add luggage and it’s very inconvenient. This is obvious and not revelatory at all.

If you want people to take the train to the airports for the holidays perhaps you shouldn’t cut off train access to the airports from downtown for the holidays!

Importantly, the law provides *extra* protection for provider choice when it comes to family planning. Even in a managed care system which otherwise limits beneficiary choice, they still must be allowed to see any qualified provider for family planning.
