“Hey!” Mike said in a loud voice. Everyone turned to look at him. “Jacob’s going to tell everyone what he saw. Give him a few minutes. Some of you need to go down to the girls’ camp, and tell them that we’re having a meeting.” #survivingthefog #postapocalypse #teenagers #youngadult #newadult

There were a lot of kids in the dining hall, and Mike understood why when he saw that Jacob was there, eating a bowl of cereal. Many teens were pressing close, trying to talk to him, but John, Pete, Howard, and Eric were fending them off. “Tell us what happened,” a boy angrily demanded. #survival

Mike’s anxiety caused him to sleep later than usual the next morning. Shortly after he left the cabin, he heard kids speaking about Jacob’s return, and he realized that one of the boys had talked. He wasn’t surprised, because he hadn’t expected that news of this sort could be kept quiet for long.

It's really amazing how many people think that Adam Smith created Capitalism and that Marx created Socialism. #capitalismistheengineofsocialism

Ralph banged on the door, demanding to be let in. Mike ignored Ralph, and Jacob pulled the bed covers over his head and was soon asleep. Mike climbed the ladder leading to the loft. He had explored the loft and had found two futons, so he laid down on one and waited until Ralph gave up. #survival

Mike and Jacob walked up to the Admin’s cabin in the twilight, but as they entered the cabin they heard a shout. Jacob was too tired to turn, but Mike glanced back towards the shouter. It was Ralph; at seventeen, one of the oldest teenagers in the camp. #survivingthefog #postapocalypse #teens

I know this happened a while back, but rather than just dismissing her words, we should take time to contemplate the idea. We are a strong, competent people, and I firmly believe that if we put our hearts and minds to the task we could tear this country apart. www.nbcnews.com/politics/con...

Trump? Other than being a MFCSAandB he's not that bad.

How many Republicans does it take to change a diaper? Five. One to change the diaper and four to form a committee to protest that change. #politicalhumor

“I wonder what happened to the Admin and the counselors,” John said softly. The others had similar thoughts. Had they driven into the fog? Mike drew a breath. “Well,” he said slowly. “Now we know.” “We’ll have to tell the others,” Howard stated. #survivingthefog #postapocalypse #teenager #survival

“That’s when I turned around and started back. I felt sick to my stomach, and I couldn’t eat anything that day, I only drank water. I tried to conserve my food and water on the way back, but I ran out.” The faces of the other boys grew grim as Jacob told his story. #survivingthefog #survival

The differences between the Republican Conservative Socialists and the Democratic Liberal Socialists are their corporate targets. #capitalismistheengineofsocialism

What we see in the Republican Party is the rise once again of Conservative Socialism. The Reaganites have been purged.

"Something came out of the fog and grabbed the bird, and it disappeared, too. It was so fast, that I couldn’t tell what had happened. I climbed a little hill next to the road and looked over to the other side. There was more fog. It’s like we’re on an island in an ocean." #survivingthefog

"I saw its head come up, and it tried to, like, jump out of the fog, but it fell down with its head and shoulders out of the fog. It was facing me, and I could see it trying to struggle. Its eyes look scared, and it was making strange sounds, and then it stopped moving. I think it was dead."

"I saw some fog ahead of me. It was real strange, because it was level. I could see over it. It looked like the ocean, except that it was brown, and there were no waves. There was a deer standing next to the road, close to the fog. I stopped to watch it, and I saw it walk into the edge of the fog."

“I walked three days,” Jacob began, “and on the morning of the third day, I didn’t eat any of my food because I wanted to conserve some. That afternoon I found it. The fog, I mean. It was about four o’clock. I know because I checked. I was about a half mile past the seven thousand feet sign.

Mike had just thrown a spear, hitting the paper archery target that the teens had fastened to one of the bales, when he turned and saw Jacob. At once, he hurried over to the returning boy. Jacob was so spent that he was struggling to remove his backpack. #survivingthefog #postapocalypse #teens

The irony is that evolution favors the evangelicals.

Does evolution always favor the ignorant?

Mike practiced every day with his spears trying to find the best design. After a day, John and Eric joined him. Two other boys, Pete and Howard, expressed interest in what he was doing, and they also began to construct spears. Between the five boys, they found a design that was sturdy. #survival

It's not owning the means of production that workers want, it is the fruits of their labors. We don't want to own the machines; we want the owners of the machines to provide universal health care. #capitalismistheengineofsocialism

“I’m hiking down the road,” Jacob announced. Mike gave him a puzzled look and asked, “Where to?” “As far as I can go.” A chill spread through Mike. “Hey, that might not be such a good idea,” he said. “Well, I’m going.” “Are you going to be back before the sun goes down?” “If I find someone.”

Jacob was wearing a backpack, and it looked full. He did not know much about Jacob, except that the other boy always seemed to be going off, alone. Jacob appeared to be a little older than Mike. He had dark, curly hair, thicker than Eric’s, and his eyes were hazel. #survivingthefog #postapocalypse

It took Mike many trials to get a spear head which would not bend, and to discover how to fasten it securely to a branch, so it would not come apart. Eventually, after folding a layer of aluminum around two other pieces of aluminum, he made a spear that would penetrate the heavy bale. #survival

Another silly controversy is whether the USA is a constitutional republic or a constitutional democracy. Our structure is republican. Our process is democratic. #capitalismistheengineofsocialism

The boys looked at one another and then looked away. “Not really,” Mike admitted. “When do you think our parents will come looking for us?” Makayla asked. “I don’t know,” Mike answered, and Kathy choked back a sob. There was nothing more to say. #survivingthefog #postapocalypse #survivial #teens

“She’s been like that all day,” said a black-eyed girl named Makayla. “She keeps saying that the Admin and the other counselors will be back, soon. I’m scared.” “Me, too,” a girl named Kathy said, a quiver in her voice. “Do you think she’s right?” a third girl asked. #Survivingthefog #postapocalypse

“But, Jackie, Eric tried to get someone on the radio phone. There’s no one there!” Mike’s voice was rising with a hint of panic, as he tried to get through to the young woman. “You stay out of the Admin’s place!” snapped Jackie. “Now go away.” She turned her head towards the wall. #survivingthefog

I've been saying for years that a wall along the border is ludicrous, only troops will be successful. So, finally troops are being sent to the border. Do we need them now? No. Will we need them in the future? Probably. That's why we practice now.

One of the most amazing and ludicrous controversies is that Democrats are deliberately replacing white people with non-Caucasian people. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but when Europeans stopped immigrating to the USA the browning of America was inevitable. (not really bad news)

Go to any major intersection in any major city in the world. Stand by the traffic light and look down. You will probably see a rubber looking mat with raised lines and dots. It's there for the blind. That's the kind of consensus it will take to tackle climate change.

“Hey, Jackie,” John said. The young woman looked over at him, a listless expression on her attractive face. Jackie was a young woman with blond hair and a slim build. She was usually quite animated, but now her face and eyes were red and swollen, and she was emitting a faintly unpleasant odor.

When did our inner voice evolve? Did Australopithecus have one, or is it a much more recent development?
