It's their third amendment right!

A lot of people think UX is just about rounded corners and making forms pretty and isn't very important but it's actually also about stuff like making it clear when you're posting something publicly or privately so it's actually very important

People keep sharing these stories with comments like "aha! These dumbasses finally realized they screwed up" but this is as close as they come to admitting they did anything wrong. They keep talking about Trump policies like a natural disaster caused by no one www.thedailybeast.com/trump-voter-...

Come on now everyone knows that's when you drop a toaster in someone's bath

I guess that's a clever use of the fact that "fire" has multiple meanings, but for what end

Me most of the time: this state is horribly mismanaged, we're led by morons, and the nonprofit industrial complex has a veto Me when chuds say California is a shithole:

This is fun but I would kind of like a second source other than Bannon

I don't usually like to do these but in this case it really has to be done

I don't think it's as much about the specific issues and positions so much as you have to convince them there's another group on the right that (1) has cultural power (ie, everyone thinks is cool) and (2) is looking down on you, and most importantly, more so on both points than anyone on the left

This is a good point, all of the "my critics are stuck in the past and against new technology" arguments seem to be made with the speaker assuming that various softwares are the only new kind of technology around and not like mRNA vaccines or whatever

That is a huge box

I didn't realize at first that Splitgate was the name of an actual game. I thought it was the cheeky nickname everyone was giving to some game related scandal

I kind of want to mute the word "kompromat" but then I might miss out on people making fun of people who use the word "kompromat"

I have to admit I'm surprised that he remembered he had it. Or maybe someone reminded him

That's very funny that the Trump administration is blaming the judge that told them they're not allowed to deport these people to their original countries, so that they "have to" park them in a shipping container in a random country. Hmm yes, no other option I guess

I came in like a cybertruck I never fell apart so much All I did was cause a clusterfuck All you ever did was wreck me

49% of the replies: exactly, it is so misogynistic 50% of the replies: it's a meme reference you dumbass 1 person: but honestly women really do fight like backstabbing little bitches

I don't think the president can actually kill Musk or send him to CECOT but I'm sure he has asked if it was possible (and has probably asked about other people in the past) so that's nice to think of

Calling posts "truths" definitely leads to some interesting phrase constructions

Maybe just because I've been disappointed so many times but words, no matter how incendiary, don't seem to mean anything with these people. Marco Rubio talked all this smack about Trump and now he's his obedient little servant www.texastribune.org/2016/02/26/d...

I think it isn't very hard to charm egotists like Elon, who are eager to believe that you may use everyone else but not them, they're too special. I guess the rare part is being too high on yourself to be charmed by anyone else. Also in retrospect, him still never posting directly on X was a hint

I think a problem with popular sci-fi is that most stories are about AIs that are dangerous because they are too smart, like Skynet or HAL, so people think that's the only way AIs can be dangerous, and there's not enough stories about AIs that are dangerous because they are too dumb like ED-209

Do they have math classes at Hogwarts? If not, how do they learn math and other basic skills? I feel like magic is a series of specialized subjects. Don't they also need some kind of gen ed or do they just grow up being able to torture people but not how to calculate sales tax or comparison shop

I like the replies to obvious joke posts like "I think the anti-trans sports ban is great because it will bring down egg prices" or whatever that are like "I almost didn't catch the subtle joke here that many will miss, but after careful scrutiny I was able to realize this was a joke"

I don't really like the simplistic take where people go "I knew Peter Thiel was evil all along because he named his weapons company after an evil item from Lord of the Rings" because ok, well, his other companies are Valar, Arda, Lembas, Mithril, and Rivendell, so now what. He's 16% evil?

It doesn't make it any better but I think clearly the difference is that being more racist or anti trans is very cheap and doesn't require much more than rhetoric whereas covering more people with healthcare or reining in big corps takes a lot of work and you have to deliver something tangible

That sucks. They should make a law that they have to make all the text of the bill publicly available for legislators to read before they sign it
