Do you remember that weird period in the 90s when there were Christian industrial groups? I remember a few of them actually being pretty good, but I think they were still "out there" enough that they weren't acceptable to really conservative parents

Okay, if you're not familiar with Harvey Fierstein you should really watch Torch Song Trilogy. It's dated, of course, and limited by what was acceptable in a mainstream movie in 1988, but it's still delightful

Yeah, Jimmy's spent so much of his career on game shows / panel shows that he doesn't really have much of a comedic persona beyond that, I guess he just decided "oh this is the way he wind is blowing" and thought Ricky Gervais Lite was somehow a winning formula

That reminds me, I had a friend in high school (back in the 90s) whose dad always insisted she drive with a full gas can in the trunk for emergencies. One day she was driving some friends home and it tipped over and spilled... All over their backpacks 💀
