I made it to 6666 miles on my ebike and I was going 6.6 mph.

He nails it.

“These results suggest that some automakers need to tweak their pedestrian automatic emergency braking systems.” Bit of an understatement wouldn’t you say?

If I read this correctly, Canada winning means Minnesota is now a Canadian Province.

Cargo bike people: assemble‼️

We still have a ways to go in repairing the harm done to our BIPOC communities, but generally speaking Minnesota is a great place to live.

NO KINGS, ONLY TRAINS is a pretty great 2028 slogan for anyone who wants it

Calling all Urban Farmers: The City Council is considering a boulevard ordinance to legalize edible plantings and raised beds. There’s been lots of great questions and feedback on it! I’m hosting a community meeting about it on 2/24 at Sibley Park. Come ask questions & share your thoughts. 🌻 🌱

Why would I use my car when it's so much more fun to get groceries by bike?

20°F feels so warm after weeks of single digit and negative degrees. My face doesn't hurt outside anymore!

"I'm surprised more plumbers aren't yet making the switch to cargo bikes" That's Amsterdam plumber Job van Oostrum, who adds that there's "No need to worry about parking spaces, you can park right outside the door without any hassle" 👨‍🔧 AT5: www.at5.nl/artikelen/23... I'm proud to begin my second year serving on the @streets.mn board with some of the best people, doing important work to make our communities better.

Bicycles Deliver The Freedom That Auto Ads Promise.

Now that 47 is trying to shut down congestion pricing, Hochul is all of a sudden supportive of it?

I’ve never wanted to beat Wisconsin more.

CW: violence. Fuck, this is grim.

This video reminded me of @tomflood.bsky.social’s famous quote: “Bicycles deliver the freedom that auto ads promise.”

It's a good idea.

Just checking: how many highly educated federal workers just got fired?

Maybe when it snows a bunch in Minneapolis, we can all just use the roadways, which are cleared fairly quickly. People walking, rolling, biking, & driving can all share the road traveling very slowly. It's either this or we need municipal sidewalk clearing of the Pedestrian Priority Network.

It'd be nice to have a viable high speed rail network in north america with good local transit service right about now

Join CM Katie Cashman for her re-election campaign launch! Let's make sure Ward 7 continues to have a progressive leader. RSVP so they have enough food for everyone (link is in the comments of the quoted post).

Great news! This pilot will start with 5 locations and go up to a max of 42, and will run from August 2025 to July 2029. Unfortunately, right now "only locations on streets under the City's jurisdiction are being considered. Locations on County or MnDOT streets may be considered in the future."

Update, courtesy of @fcable.bsky.social . 😣 The driver *did* hit Butter Bakery. Nicollet is already one of the highest injury streets in Mpls (despite it being a basic 2 way street w/ 25mph speed limit). I’m very concerned what’ll happen when we reopen it to cars north of Lake St.

Big box grocery store: egg shelves mostly empty, egg prices way up, buying limits. Co-op grocery store: egg shelves abundant, prices same as ever, buy as many as you like.

We need this at community events in Minneapolis! 🚲 ❤️

"While reconstruction of the Hennepin-Lyndale bottleneck may not be feasible in the short term, I’d like to offer a vision of what a better future in Minneapolis transportation could be — the “turbo roundabout.”

We’ve hollowed out our cities, paving over their souls to serve the auto industry. What’s left is asphalt, emptiness, and a staggering loss of human scale.

The author of this article asserts that due to safety risks ALL ebikes should be banned from protected bikelanes. This idea is terrible UNLESS we also ban all cars that pose a risk (due to size & speed above 20mph) from places people 🚶/🚲/🦽. Good compromise? I'd ride my ebike in the street then.

“We’re not going anywhere. What’s more: we’re expanding.” Nearly a dozen of Minnesota’s foremost experts on gender-affirming care collaborated on this beautiful op-ed in today’s Strib. No paywall.
