Already haunting your feed, but: 1) ā€œAmerican Wolfā€ by Nate Blakeslee and ā€œThe Passionā€ by Jeanette Winterson each ruined me very differently. 2) I would Do Things to John Childermass from ā€œJonathan Strange & Mr. Norrellā€. 3) Pain au chocolat every time I hit the bakery for a coffee.

And Iā€™ve explained this detail privately when itā€™s been relevant, but I realized it feels good to be very publicly āœØcrystal clearāœØ that Iā€™m not interested in flirtations from women, nonbinary people, or agender people; just other fellas. Thanks in advance for respecting that going forward!

And, another housekeeping note! šŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆ While social media isnā€™t the first corner of the internet I actively look for romantic connections on, itā€™s /social/ media. I use apps for a nebulous, distinctly-21st-century blur of both leisure and business and have met some wonderful friends and lovers online...

The term ā€œtransmascā€ isnā€™t it for me, personally. Not because I donā€™t feel masculine; Iā€™m absolutely aligned with masculinity. But, Iā€™m a man and if weā€™re discussing my transness, it feels most accurate to describe myself and be described as a trans man as opposed to ā€œtransmascā€.

Your stories were important /before/ this shitshow and they will be important after. We are a revolutionary* generation of trans people. You are tomorrowā€™s queer history; preserve it today. *There is no glamour or romance to the word. Itā€™s just the hand weā€™ve been dealt. šŸŒ·All my love and rage. šŸŒ·

Iā€™m currently working to archive local queer history here in Salem, MA from ancient times - the present. I just keep thinking about how MANY primary sources have been lost to time and censorship and fear. And I need you to know that every word you have, every photo/video you take is precious.

If you are moved to write, WRITE; document. Journal for yourself or journal for the next generation. I hope with all my might that you & I will be seventy years old and plucky, young historians who never knew a moment like this will be asking us what we felt, what it was like, and how we Did It.šŸŒ·

We share so many thoughts and memories in messages and on social media. All of that can go away in a snap. Get an external hard drive; big one, a flash drive, any. Make sure you have your own copies of your photos, your videos, your love letters, your art. You are precious, your story is precious.
