And took real stakes with Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3, by asserting that the original Gamora is gone and that Peter Quill has to let her go. This is a step backwards in terms of keeping the status quo intact and Sam has to suffer his character becoming sidelined in his movie.

Add to that that constantly keeping a title on streaming costs money, and most streamers are not interested in keeping older titles in their library so they'll just remove it cause it's not cost effective to their bottom line. Physical is paramount to keeping films in the zeitgeist.
