This afternoon's session - Student Engagement and Discourse with Desmos was a huge success! Tons of great discussions, lesson planning, and exploration for secondary math teachers! #EduSky

It's been a busy first three weeks back at work! We've already hosted 5 different days of professional learning for teachers along with an online course that's had 250+ participants! Last Thursday was our biggest event yet - Nest Fest '23 where the 7 of us hosted 36 sessions with 100+ attendees! 🍎

I just led a PL session with science teachers in my district where they learned about the power of MasteryPaths! It was one of the best sessions I've ever been a part of! The teachers had great conversations, collaborated, and came away with lessons they can implement immediately! #EDUsky

I have an a new team at work this year, and after just two days, I'm ready to run through a wall for them. The brains, positivity, ideas, and fun from them makes me so excited for what we'll accomplish this year! Teams feeds off of each other's energy, positive or negative! #EDUsky

My team at work played a game last year with instructional coaches where we spun a wheel of names with a variety of edtech tools, spun for a content area, and then challenged them to come up with a way that tool could create a more engaging 4Cs-focused lesson. #EDUsky

Going back on contract Monday! I've enjoyed the break, but I'm excited to see my team again! What's your go-to activity on the first day back at work? #EDUSky

Tell me about the professional planner you use: Digital Platform or paper? Features you like/wish it had? Collaborative with colleagues? Weekly/Daily Calendar? Meeting Notes? Event Planning? I've used Outlook for years and tried OneNote for a bit, but want to know if I'm missing out! #EDUsky

Ran into a former student yesterday that took my computer maintenance class his soph year (he just graduated). He was so excited to tell me about the computer he'd recently built himself and said he couldn't have done it without my class. Filled my bucket for the month on the 3rd of July! #EDUsky

One of the biggest impediments to moving platforms is finding previous people you followed. This extension doesn't make it 100% seamless, but it's a good start! https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/sky-follower-bridge/behhbpbpmailcnfbjagknjngnfdojpko/related

I've been thinking lately about what it means when I read that "___% of students can't _____ at a ___th grade level". Those stats are arbitrary and ever-moving. What we expect of a 9th grader today is not similar to what we expected 30 or 50 years ago. Kids are just as smart or smarter than ever.

Working on a project to teach others how to utilize a few new drones we have available. Looking for ideas on how to integrate a drone with a VR helmet and 4K camera into core classes! #edusky Here I am flying it through my car as we were testing it out for the first time!
