Starting to think this season would have been more fun if our players didn’t get injured.

TV coverage is all about this being a "massive disappointment" for Arsenal. From my perspective, having already given up on the title, that's not a bad result.

Nobody would look good in attack without their four best forwards. Arsenal had to muddle through this period with clean sheets. Gave up a soft goal today and never looked like scoring one, let alone two. Disappointing but not a massive surprise.

This won't be the main takeaway from the match but David Raya has just burned up James Ward-Prowse in a 30-yard sprint and beaten him with a flick.

I've seen enough, we need David Raya on the wing.

No complaints with that red card, Lewis-Skelly gets caught, brings Kudus down - he's through on goal otherwise. Another miserable day in a miserable season.

Unfortunately, that one is very much a red card

I think we all need to be realistic and say none of that is going to happen. You lose four attackers, you look shit in attack, end of. To expect anything else is delusion. You just have to score once more than the opposition. Don’t expect performances at the moment, just results.

That half was as poor as the first 45 against Leicester, but now more of a challenge because we conceded a really poor goal. Just bad defending, Bowen should not have a free header from there. A big mountain to climb in the 2nd half now, with not a lot on the bench to change things.

I hope we got money off for not polluting the minds of fans in the UK because the match was not broadcast live in this fucking country...FFS.

The thing with Gary Neville that has been abundantly clear for a long time is that he’s a busy guy and he just doesn’t watch football anymore. The only games he watches are the ones he works on, which is why he transitioned to lazy, narrative based analysis. He should hire a researcher.

merino: - said he forgot a present for his wife so his goals were her valentine’s gift 😭😭 - said he doesn’t think he will be playing striker again brother, you are in the doghouse wearing a #9 shirt, ACCEPT IT 🤣

Joe Cole’s analysis of Sterling has been completely detached from reality

Stick with this team, they deserve our backing. UTA 🔴⚪️✊

It’s been explained to me a million times but I’ll never be able to wrap my head around what it is that makes people so hateful that they vote for this. My brain just cannot connect to it. Millions of people have this much hate in their hearts and I will never understand it. We’re a failed species.

The quicker people realise this affects all of us - the better.

This whole situation is a great case study in one of life’s great truths. The people who bray the loudest and are celebrated the most for being hard and tough are, without exception, the thinnest skinned, whiniest little babies going.

Weak men cannot compromise. Weak men cannot build consensus. Weak men think that leadership means force. Weak men build nothing that lasts.

I think I just need to take a moment to remember that Newcastle fans sang ‘same old Arsenal always cheating’ after having a goal disallowed for offside. Chef’s kiss, no notes.

It was always a huge ask to turn this one around, but that was really disappointing. Well below our usual levels - collectively and individually - but Newcastle were excellent and Howe did a great job coaching that performance. Get everybody rested in Dubai and attack the second half of the season.

If you're being generous, you might argue we left it all out there on Sunday and the tank was empty. In reality, Newcastle have had the measure of us over both legs, and we haven't had anywhere near enough on the bench to change either of the games. We didn't play well enough to deserve a final.

Haaland’s allowed to throw a ball at the back of Gabriel’s head, yell “WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?” in a teenager’s face, tell a manager to “stay humble”, and call Jesus a fucking clown but suddenly we’re talking about respect and FA charges when Gabriel and Lewis-Skelly give a little back to Haaland

Harmless fun 🙄. And look, ultimately we had to take it and they celebrated a draw against 10 men like they'd won the cup. And we used it motivate ourselves to get a fantastic win and took the piss out of the Stay Humble comments. I mean Sky used Haaland Stay Humble VT on their pre-match promos FFS!

Exactly and fair play to him. You can add Ivan Toney's "Nice kickabout with the boys" tweet. Is it annoying being on the end of such things? Yes. Do you have to take it if you give it? Yes. It's the very essence of fandom. If Haaland dishes it out then he has to be prepared to take it in return.

The optics of this are terrible and should spark a serious discussion. I can’t believe the clowns in charge of this league could be so detached that they don’t even consider the worrying optics of this whatsoever.

This is a very serious situation. We must stamp out the scourge of players flapping their arms like seagulls or sitting peacefully on the ground after scoring a goal. This post was brought to you by TWATBET – the anonymous bookmakers that don't actually exist who definitely aren't money launderers

The amount of pearl clutching about Lewis-Skelly is actually embarrassing. I don't remember any of this outrage when Haaland threw the ball at Gabriel's head or when he was abusing Arteta and others back in the reverse fixture. Just fuck off.

Seeing some very familiar patterns in how people (and prominent media people) have been talking about Lewis-Skelly recently. I’m reminded of the narrative around Sterling, Pogba, Rashford and why they needed to stay in their lanes, be humble. I wonder what they all have in common.

Look at the way Neville and Carragher celebrate his behaviour in the return fixture. This absolutely builds narrative of the way Arsenal are perceived by the wider football world and the evidence from this season is that it does have an impact on the pitch. Fuck these disingenuous cunts.

Gary Neville is unbelievable. Calling Gabriel disrespectful and saying it made him feel uneasy, but go listen to the commentary for Haaland's goal: Neville says he 'has to' go after Gabriel to celebrate and says he's 'gone the wrong way' when he heads to the City fans.

18 - In the form of Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly, this was the first time that two players aged 18 or younger had scored for the same team in a Premier League game since Everton v Fulham in April 2007 (James Vaughan & Victor Anichebe). Fearless.

In a season that's been largely miserable, that win felt so cathartic. We've been second best to City (and again to Liverpool this season) but what's the point of being a fan if you can't love days like today. We put FIVE past them on our own turf, with two Hale End boys scoring. Beautiful.

Wow I can’t believe arsenal scored without anyone shooting

Arteta spent the pregame telling the media Arsenal players don't hold grudges #SkellyCelly

We’ve lost a lot (personnel wise) this season but MLS and Nwaneri have made this squad bigger and better.

STAY HUMBLE, CUNTO!

Suspect Erling Haaland may now be aware of who Myles Lewis-Skelly is

DOING THAT CELEBRATION YOU MAD MAN

Release the bastard so I can celebrate all our goals 👍

There really wasn't any need for this strange briefing campaign about Oliver not refereeing the Arsenal v City game on Sunday (he is literally not allowed to be in contention for that). Just wish PGMOL would dial down on the media and image management obsession and do their jobs.

Coote did some stupid shit and, as punishment, lost his job publicly. That should have been an end to it. Watching PGMOL and the media use his sexuality and mental health issues to distract from criticism for a decision in a football match is disgusting. That's what the 'narrative' should be, here.

If you haven't already read this, I urge you to do so. Spot on at EVERY level. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

“Tiresome talking about referees” says @23carra.bsky.social. I agree. What time is Ref Watch on tomorrow ? Mike Dean on soccer Saturday next week? The Howard Webb show? Is Howard back on the otherwise wonderful ‘Stick to Football’ again anytime soon? Tiresome.

PGMOL is beyond saving. The whole organisation just needs to go. They’re a lethal mix of incompetent and complacent. Get rid and start again.

😊

I find it very odd and really surprising that the official who was on VAR duty for VAR's biggest ever error and most embarrassing moment - that wrongly disallowed Luis Diaz goal at Tottenham - is still appointed to work as a VAR.

Of course they are. But Oliver and VAR fucked themselves in this game. If MLS was serious foul play, the Joao Gomes challenge was much worse and only a yellow. Arsenal should win any appeal based on that alone, let alone the fact it should never have been a red card in the first place.
