#CDFriday There Are No Birds Here/Isolated Community - We Are The Wreckage Of Our Former Selves CD Inverted Grim Mill Recordings 2025 @isolatedcommunity.bsky.social

It has come to my attention that not nearly enough of you know about Bernd das Brot, the German children's program about a clinically depressed loaf of bread who enjoys studying his wallpaper and eating gruel and whose catchphrases include "my life is hell" and "I would like to leave this show."

Closing dow tonight with this riff heavy album, such a classic.

My friend @mpflapp.bsky.social brought me this calendar from Tower Records on his recent Japan visit and I can’t stop grinning every time I see it.. No Vinyl No Life! #vinyl #vinylcommunity #novinylnolife

#cassunday Brion Gysin - Orgy Boys cassette Bought from Compendium In Camden sometime in late 80’s//early 90’s. It seems to be a bootleg of the Orgy Boys LP released on Hat Music in 1982 (which I didn’t know existed until I looked it up just now)

#nowplaying Peter Brőtzmann/Hamid Drake - Solid and Spirit LP. Recorded 16th April 2010. Nero’s Neptune Records 2013. I’m still on a massive Brőtzmann binge after reading Daniel Spicer’s excellent biography. #jazzsky

qtvlabel.bandcamp.com/album/qtv067... Really enjoying this wonderfully warped Caxtrinho album. Thanks @derekwalmsley.bsky.social for bringing it to our attention. #MPB #samba

A #CDFriday eve post featuring the collected studio albums of John Zorn's original Masada quartet (gee, I wonder what he'll be sharing tomorrow?). Currently listening to Dalet (first disc in the second row) but the whole pictured batch will be exhausted by the time of my next post. Info in alt-text.

Me too… 🤔

Can’t recommend this book highly enough. I absolutely devoured it. It sent me off on a proper Brőtzmann listening frenzy. Was welling up at the description of his last ever shows at Cafe Oto, which I was lucky enough to be at. Well done Mr Spicer!

This sounded ancient when it was released 20+ (💀) years ago- I think I've caught up with it now. Listening today, it sounds a bit like an unlikely summit between DJ Screw and the Taj Mahal Travellers.
