I’m an absolute sucker for them live. I’ve seen them in Edinburgh, London, San Sebastian, Hamburg and Vienna. The Hamburg show even had an Old/New Masada supergroup collaboration set!

And now, the supplemental post for #CDFriday proper - the rest of the Masada catalogue! Seven sets drawn from concerts and a comprehensive collection of alternate studio takes. Listening to Live In Taipei (Tzadik, 1998 - rec. 1996), seen at top left; will complete over the weekend. Info in alt-text.

Now that’s a CD selection! Masada are a band I will (and have) travelled to see live.

I’d definitely have bought it. One of my favourite 7”s is Nina Simone’s cover of ‘To Love Somebody’ and I have ‘New York Mining Disaster 1941’ ingrained in my brain from childhood..

TBH it’s the only one of hers that I really like.

You are very welcome! I bought it from the merch desk within the first 10 mins of her set the first time I saw her at Oto. Absolutely love that record..

A real blast from the past. I think she just stopped making music after a while. She was a delight to see live. I remember her Vampire Can’t collab with Chris Corsano and Bill Nace too.
