Ye gods and little fishes!

An absolutely wonderful painting.

Monday? No, thank you. I'll politely decline and stay in this nice tree instead. #MondayMotivation

‘Brothers’ Fish Shop, Commercial Road’ 2002. Used to frequently pass this on way to Watney Market during the 80’s and 90’s but never tempted to venture in to buy anything. I’m not a vegetarian but the sight of those eyes………. Didn’t paint the facade until closed- hypocritical, I know. #art #painting

Rachel Reeves holds newts in contempt, it seems. So I thought I'd post this glorious painting of a "lion of the duckweed" by Jackie Morris + my paean to these "kings of the pond", both from The Lost Words. Newt-lovers, unite!

Always and forever.

‘Launderette’ 2022. Still a frequent sight in the back streets of east London. This launderette in Forest Gate gets a bit more dilapidated each year but maintains dignity. The pillars have recently been painted grey to enhance its appearance although the lettering continues to disintegrate 😊 #art

God help me I drunkenly went to the local small town Faceache group and interacted with Musk apologists. You can take a cunt to water but you can’t make it think.

Have discovered Altbierbowle in Germany and now it has a complete stranglehold on me.

Terrible news.

Cor!! An outstanding book haul from the Oxfam today! Delighted to find The Night Of The Hunter, being one of my favourite films I have shamefully not yet read the book. No more! Shame be gone! The Philip K Dick perhaps a little too prescient at the moment…

My favourite photo, so far, from my ongoing documentary project on the memorial outlook in Whitby ‘Remember Me To One Who Lives There’. #photography #documentaryphotograhy #womensart #remembermetoonewholivesthere #whitby

Two absolutely smashing nights on the trot at @100clublondon.bsky.social for Subhumans and UK Subs as part of the Resolution Punk Festival. I got one very bad photo of the legend that is Charlie Harper. Both nights absolutely cracking, live music venues are so important to the cultural fabric!

A few years ago I began a documentary photography project on East Cliff in Whitby. There’s an overlook that has become the place where memorials and love locks are placed and I’ve been documenting it’s evolution and seasons. It’s a long term project and here are some of my winter/Christmas Day shots

In 1996 I released an album of Lo-Fi recordings called Duglas Stewart’s Frankenstein. The album isn’t available on any streaming services currently but you can buy it on bandcamp. Thank you. I did my own make up on the cover. bmxbandits.bandcamp.com/album/duglas...

The perfect visual for late-stage capitalism meets climate change denial.

First two books of 2025 and two very different slices of Japanese fiction, from immaculate noir sleuthing to pure mind bending surrealism! What next?!

Absolutely entranced by her photos since watching Shooting The Mafia, her biopic. Go and see the exhibition at The Photographer’s Gallery if you can. Letizia Battaglia was a titan of documentary photography.

Not posted my photos for a wee bit but finally uploaded a bunch from the gloomiest of all December days out East, so back at it. Austin Allegro in the arches. Bow London 2024 #photography #banalography #beautifulmundane #grimart
