Even if they move out, they can call you, lol

Drabblecast and pseudopod come to mind, and FFO's stories this month were mostly horror.

My kids: why are you laughing so hard? Me: 🤐

IMHO a vague idea of the ending is the most important part! That's the vehicle for what your character learns, beating the bad guy, etc.

I used to think I didn't outline, but it turns out it's still an outline even if you never write it down. I started writing it down for longer stories 😂

Most pantsers I know do plot, but after the first draft, so they can decide how to edit. That's called a reverse outline 😆

Sounds like a pantser 😂 I plot with intent towards my themes, but I do sometimes refine what I want to say about that theme through drafting and editing!

Once in afterschool, a student who normally participated was all over the place. They then informed me that they were ADHD. They had just gotten diagnosed and this is what they internalized! It's difficult to communicate nuance to children. Lack of nuance in social media can be annoying for sure

I've taught blended creative writing classes and drama to children, so yes!

😂 Well, I chose to have kids. Soon after I had my first I read a "keep writing!" blog post by wonderful writers who pay babysitters... I mean, I guess if you can afford that! 😝 I did keep writing but whenever I count the hours to make time for writing, I laugh.

Can *anyone* learn/use magic in your world, or can only just a few? And if only a few, then why? #worldbuilding #fantasy #magic #writers #WriterSky #writingcommunity

East Coast USA, where 1 inch of snow shuts down all the schools 😆

I read that's what I have to do to install scrivener, too 💀 thanks!

😭 🤫 I do share a lot on Google docs so I would be dealing with that either way. Next time I need a device I'll remember this, but for now I'm just grateful that we could replace my ancient thing that barely ran! Even if it did have Scrivener 😭

I have been considering getting unlimited data so that's a very good point in its favor. I can't tell you how many times something would happen like the kids accidentally unplugged my Chromebook so it didn't sync 😂 💀

That sent me in the right direction! My biggest issue was that whenever Google drive failed me due to connectivity issues, I couldn't even start a new document. 😭 This app will at least help with that! I can write snippets and copy them into drive when I'm online again.

It can be a little rough the first time you get back into it but no, you don't forget everything. I hyperfocus so I make those kinds of choices all the time for my writing or visual art.

Been trying that for a year. It requires that nothing go wrong and that's I have advanced notice that I'm going to have a chance to write. I do do that when I can though!

If the ending is still happy then your friend may be wrong 😂

My chickens need straw 😂 Although to be fair, I am waiting on critique partners for this ssf flash...

Your promises to the reader shape their satisfaction with the ending. You're not pulling a prank here. If you know you are going against the most common tropes in your genre, then there should be some hint of that in your marketing, at the very least. Find the readers that WANT something darker.

👀 Well?
comment in response to post
Exactly. I like it for the initial scene work for novels, but after that, I end up having to use Google Docs for any feedback.

I'm curious what you've tried or if you've found something. I love many things about Scrivener, for instance, but it is not designed for collaboration or even beta reading. I was looking into campfire

I just switched to 3rd for 1.5k flash piece and that was more than enough 😆

Other people don't know that? 😭

I already have chickens that lay so many pretty colors, but if my husband is reading this, there's always emu eggs to think about 👀

Good luck! There's something special about setting up at a craft show or similar event

I never understood listening to music while writing, either. It probably doesn't help that I don't like instrumental music. Silence or natural sounds are the best ambience.
