Wrong is wrong, no matter what story he tells himself to justify things. Redemption my arse.

And 15 year old girls who do fecking stupid things. (Shamima Begum). If he's so keen on the rule of law, bring her back to the UK - she's a UK citizen despite your playing to the gallery - and try her.

Yes and good to get a pleasant chat.

We agree. I think it's my use of English. Sorry!

I meant "yourself" as in people who need to look at themselves generally. Not you personally.

No - I do get you. I hate Othering, which is usually race- or faith-based in the UK. That's not you. Farage is low life.
comment in response to post
I didn't - no - but I'm not surprised.

I'm wary they become a tool for harassment of minorities, as is I think Liberty.

I had a poster of that portrait on my student wall, with Gustav Mahler.

Wagner was a consumate story teller, as was Mr Shakespeare, which is presumably why your hero wrote around him (amazingly so, BTW)

Intrigued. What has Giuseppe Verdi done to get Super Status for you?

I personally agree with you, but large numbers of people both believe him and want to believe his easy, facile answers. Othering - 'people different from me = bad' is useful if you don't want to look too hard at yourself, or even if there's no reason, but you're looking for simplistic 'answers'.

££££ - and to soften his image, get his name out there. Like Trump, he has a finely honed political instinct. Like Trump he's a grifter.
comment in response to post
Oh I suspect that like his pal Trump, Farage dislikes sharing the limelight and any perception of power.

Reform is at least internally defined by paranoia and anger. By definition it's anti- first. It's not surprising they hate and distrust each other as well: it will inevitably tear the party apart.

I do know politicians, local and national. They are usually motivated by a desire for change, at least initially. Personally they are a mixed bag, with egos to match. There is a skew to lobbyists, but it's more systemic than individual. Alienation from the electorate is also a problem.

"Why don't you care about your own people? We're struggling here and you care more about incomers than us." That isn't explicitly racist - many people feel politicians have abandoned them.

Wow NZ. Not a good look!

There are 5 Reform MPs and they can't even sit in the same room as each other.

When Ms Hill speaks of things Ruskie, you listen.

I thought France was explicitly offering scientific refuge.

They're not 'mentally ill'. They are deluded and narcissistic but obviously in charge of the meagre faculty they have. What I ask is why we allow eedjits like this to run governments. Plenty of other examples across the world, too.

Who'd a thunk it was going to end in a massive bitch slapping sesh. I'm stunned, I tell yer

I wondered about that. Very difficult not to look like a shish and chips after a week in Greece.

Agreed, although to say this as an SNP activist is treasonous in some member's eyes. We are benefiting from political armageddon. It's nothing the SNP deserve, or have done to deserve.

Frankly I'm amazed it's as low as 16%. Should be more like 40%+!

Ooo-er you should try art school. A cohort of paraded, precocious wannabes who discover other people with talent not only exist - but are more creative. NOT FAIRRR! It's bitch central, I tell you.

I always say it's about growing up without parents seeing every wretched choice you make - good and abysmal, from washcycle to love interest - in a relatively benign environment.

The parallel abhorrence is the world's response to yet another genocide, this time committed by the very country created to protect victims of genocide. The Israeli government is a disgrace to its own people's terrible history.

If you've ever done local volunteering work you'll know that this is a road to hell and back. Jackie Weaver and that parish cooncil stooshie was ops normal!
