More often than not this seems to be posturing; they'll cave in exchange for some extra pork for some crappy local grifters already addicted federal largesse. But who knows...maybe a miracle will happen this time.

"preening" I think it's a little darker than that, but enjoy your optimism while it lasts.

OK, it's just wildly higher than anything else I've seen. But, all other numbers I've seen have been narrow estimates by regional journalists (e.g. US -> Canada only).

"sworn federal officers" Have to wonder what else they've "sworn" to

Everyone stay calm. We’ve got the Marines sleeping on a shipping dock in downtown LA.

You voted to confirm Noem. Nice legacy.

Where did you see that number?

I don't agree (a lot of stupid meat puppets now regret their vote), but way, way too many Americans still approve of this psychotic crap

The voters could and should have contained him in 2024.

I'm already so tired of that psychotic bitch's spackled face.

Still doesn't answer my key question: WHY didn't those 4 Dems vote?

Why didn't those 4 Dems vote? That would've been more than enough to stop this. Who are they?

Every subscription helps NYT profit from its relentless bias.

They could just as easily say "this is objectively false & misleading" and won't even go that far. It reeks when journalists are all epistemological philosophers on This One Point Only and nowhere else.

Look at the Republican numbers, tho. 86 effing percent. Vast majority of Christian voters. So incomprehensibly sick.

Every subscription boosts NYT Newspeak profits

I'm sure that's their thinking. And I think they're dead wrong. But this is going to be an ugly endurance event for decent folks.

"Where are the higher ups?" Military leadership were the first ones purged by the racist, misogynist Trump trash. A majority of senior brass purged were women or of non-Euro heritage. NO ONE is going to rescue us from our own stupidity. That was the electorate's job in 2024 and we blew it.

The most egregious failure is the GOP. Congress is the biggest check on POTUS, but with a GOP-majority it has collapsed, allowing Trump to exercise THEIR powers as well as presidential powers. It saves GOP some political heat. They are ALL abject cowards and cynical opportunists.
