i grew up in a city that was WILDLY diverse and i really could not imagine thinking “my entire life would have been better if this town was whiter.” i see people say it about my hometown too and i just do not understand it. diversity was the literal joy of my childhood.

(back then no one called me by my first name, only my unmarried last name, a name i don’t usually tell the internet, so i always want to transcribe things truthfully and i feel like i’m lying when i don’t for some absolutely unfounded reason)

He likes New York too much to turn it into a John Carpenter movie, but he doesn't have that much real estate here (and Palos Verdes will always be outside of the Zone)

he was such a lovely, talented man and i’m so furious that there are just too many roadblocks to people making the beautiful things they want to make

are computers the reason he died? no, of course not. but the algorithming of creativity makes a wold increasingly hostile to people. i was going to say “people who make things, but no. it’s just hostile to people, to humanity, to society.

he was a beautiful, light-filled human and i regret terribly that i didn’t get to see him when i lived back east. i’m sorry you never met him.
