Martin's father is the president of Trinity Western University, in Langley.

I actually think actions such as this have impact because if I am a business owner, I calculate that a customer took the time to reach out and contact me. I pay attention to that. Does it change the calculation in terms of voting etc...? Not immediately IMO. That's going to be a much longer play.

Comments from a member of President Trump’s cabinet over the weekend have renewed concerns that the new administration could seek to interfere with federal statistics — especially if they start to show that the economy is slipping into a recession.

Trump has based his ENTIRE tariff attack on Canada on the claim that 43 pounds of fentanyl, of the 4,500 that entered the United States last year, came through the northern border. This investigation found that the actual figure is closer to zero www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/artic...

WOW. After yesterday’s Oval Office ambush of President Zelensky, Haltbakk Bunkers, one of Norway’s leading marine fuel providers, announced that it will no longer refuel U.S. Navy vessels, urging other European firms to follow suit. The United States is weaker and more isolated than ever.

The lawsuit, filed by Elias Law Group on behalf of the three national Democratic committees, challenges an expansive executive order Trump issued earlier this month that would give him unprecedented power over key regulatory agencies that were designed to operate without direct White House control.

A member of Russia’s state-owned news agency gained access to the Oval Office for President Trump’s sit-down with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky – even as the AP and Reuters were barred from the high-level meeting.

The guy who asked Zelensky if he owned a suit, Brian Glenn, is a reporter for the pro-Trump media network Real America’s Voice and also Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's boyfriend. He got one of the rare Oval Office interviewer spots only after the White House blocked the Associated Press.

Canada isn’t known for making a fuss, with niceness essentially part of its national brand. But President Trump's threats to impose 25% tariffs on Canadian exports and to annex the country have set off cascades of fury, leading many Canadians to shun American products and abandon trips to the U.S.

Tate is like Trump in this sense: the most grotesque thing is not that he exists, but that he’s hugely popular, and what that says about us as a species.

Canadians visiting the U.S. were responsible for $20.5 billion in spending last year. Some are now changing their travel plans. “I feel like Canadians have been slapped across the face by Trump.”

Here’s a quote from Ian Hanomansing on Cross Country Checkup earlier today responding to this criticism He insists they aren‘t “both-sidesing” the issue, they’re just learning what people think “on both sides of the border and on many sides of the issue” — how is this not both-sidesing the issue??

Hey CBC, don’t do this. It’s not a “proposal.” Having different wording on your website won’t diminish the harm done by having Canada’s national broadcaster treat this as a serious conversation (see below for how it’s being portrayed on the relatively sane CPAC…). Pull out of this disaster now.

Colleagues, please stop this kind of reporting. It’s as offensive as “Who would be the local governor in Russian-ruled Ukraine?”

WSJ tops Page One with its piece about Amazon — “a company that prides itself on frugality” — bidding $40m for Melaina’s doc, “nearly three times the next-closest offer,” after dinner with Bezos. $AMZN

I linked DOGE staffer Marko Elez to a deleted X account that advocated repealing the Civil Rights Act, backed a “eugenic immigration policy,” and wrote, “You could not pay me to marry outside of my ethnicity." He just resigned. www.wsj.com/tech/doge-st...

this is the sort of thing people like aaron and myself see all the time and we understand the msm is sanewashing him, as the great @parkermolloy.com noted, when they clean all this up and present him like he's a normal boy. for example, look at the ap report and compare it to the absolute shit

🚨 CANADIAN HOCKEY FANS BOO DURING U.S. NATIONAL ANTHEM AT OTTAWA SENATORS GAME

Can’t believe this is what is coming out of @nytimes.com and Peter Baker chief White House correspondent. Recalcitrant… My god. The language of lying down. This is so sad. I have a subscription. I have a choice.

Would be nice to see some UK politicians speaking up in support of Canada, which is blameless in this and with which Britain has far closer ties than it does with the US. Nobody hold their breath. www.ft.com/content/b910...

Where is Britain and a strong statement of support for Canada? Deeply upsetting that our British allies are not here for us. Canada - an integral part of fighting for and with Britain in the World Wars. Sir Keir Starmer where are you? EU? Your statement is so weak on Canada. Stop capitulating.

Here is what Trump’s tariffs mean to me. I will not buy any more U.S. wine/spirits, am buying a car in the next 6 months, won’t consider an American car, I will check to see which products ARE from US companies, fruits, vegetables, food, nothing from the U.S. You are supposed to be an ally.

Here is the data on fentanyl caught at US borders. The yellow line (Canada) is close to zero because the numbers are so small (50 lbs last year vs some 20,000 lbs from Mexico). Source: US Customs and Border Protection.

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.

Here is Caroline Kennedy absolutely coming for RFK Jr, a "predator" whose behavior, she says, would leave both her father and his "disgusted." www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLLx...
