I don’t recall the style of the case, but in a dissent Mr Justice Frankfurter wrote something to the effect of it being a truism that the frameworks of liberty have often been decided in cases involving not very nice people.

This is an embarrassment. We’re going overseas soon and even if we’re asked to defend some actual action Trump takes (almost all of which we disagree with), as an attorney I could make a cogent, if misguided, argument. I have no idea what I could say about this drivel. Maybe he really is nuts.

Years ago in one of the Bill James books he wrote that the explanation for exceeding the Pythagorean prediction for wins/losses is luck.
