I read 8 books in April. The best book I read this month was Black Woods Blue Sky, but it was also sort of messed up. Deeply disturbing in a way. So if you can handle that, I definitely recommend it. Barbara Kingsolver - level prose.

I just think it’s funny that the president thinks making everything more expensive will be no big deal in a nation that exists because its ancestors overthrew their government rather than pay an extra tax on tea

Seven hours of court and I bet the transcripts are so brief! So much sidebarring, so many objections.

I don’t think I believe that Jen McCabe actually committed any crimes, but I do see murder in her eyes when she looks at Alan Jackson 😂😂😂

It’s not a good look when the defense treats Jen McCabe with open disgust. The judge repeatedly warns him not to make snarky comments and he just won’t stop. Makes him seem arrogant and above the law. Just not a good look at all. Gives me the ick. #karenreadtrial

"Venezuelan Detainees at the Bluebonnet immigrant detention center in Anson, Texas sent the outside world a message this week: SOS. With a Reuters drone flying nearby, 31 men formed the letters in the dirt yard. Detainees are accused of being Tren de Aragua." www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Ever since I listened to Serial, I feel bad for these people who have to take the stand and recall, in detail and with absolute certainty, everyday and unremarkable moments of their lives. There's no way I could remember enough. I'm daydreaming half the time.

100 days of Trump is 100 more days than I ever wanted or needed. I wish I could go the rest of my life without seeing him or his cronies. I don’t want to hear them either.

I know everyone thinks the judge in the #karenreadtrial is biased towards the prosecution. All I am seeing is that the defense is being really difficult, requires frequent reminders, and broke the rules of discovery. I'd be pissed at them too if I were her.

I have listened to so much of the #karenreadtrial that I'm mentally rehearsing narrating everything I do for a jury some day. "Would you say you drank half of your Diet Coke? or a third? are you reasonably confident?"

I do not think the Karen Read defense really understands what a live demonstration is. #karenreadtrial

Who has read Black Woods, Blue Sky and what do you think? #booksky spoilers are okay, I finished last night

The cell phone testimony in the #karenreadtrial this AM is going to be hard for the defense to overcome. To me, they proved that Jen did not google “hos long to die in cold” at 2:30 am like we thought. Now he’s pretty far into proving that John never went into the house at 34 Fairview.
