We learned this lesson with the election denial and with “they’re eating the dogs” — he is completely detached from reality, as are his followers

Nancy is a lifelong Catholic! One of my favorite stories ever was when her hometown parish stopped serving her communion because she was pro choice, so she went to the Vatican and got communion there. Lovely flex.

Interesting I hadn’t heard about the new flooring. The cell phones are extremely suspicious to me. I have never ever heard of someone cutting a SIM card in half.

I am with you. I have allowed myself a lot of distraction that keeps my mind focused on other things. I’ve been following the Karen Read trial very closely and normally I would just keep tabs. We can’t self combust. We have years ahead of us.

This is so tragic. I was just there last October.

I don't buy that she would have killed him intentionally. I think it was an accident. The charges should never have been second degree murder. They got greedy when they charged her.

Yeah, my jaw literally dropped when I heard the texts read calling her a C-U-Next-Tuesday. The cops are not to be trusted.

My husband thinks that Karen killed John AND the cops are criminals with stuff to hide. I think there's room for both to be true. Karen appeared to wake up that morning not even remembering the drive from the Waterfall to the house. Her BAC was higher than legal limit at 9am.

TOTALLY agree. The actions of guilty people. Do you think it's possible she did hit him, has no recollection of it, AND they framed her because they were afraid there wasn't enough evidence to send her to jail? I wonder if both things could be true.

I agree, the marks on the arm have GOT to be explained better by the prosecution this time around. I feel like the medical examiner he got was terrible.

Where is the defense trying to say the dog was? Not in the house that morning, so...?

IDK, I'm trying to keep a really open mind. I'm new to the case. But she seems very credible to me. I don't buy that she is flatout lying.

I definitely could see it being an owl or another nocturnal animal. The prosecution never posed that though right? They've gotta come up with something better than taillight scratches. No one buys that at all.

It does seem like there should be a much better medical opinion like what you're saying. Usually the medical examiner can tell when injuries were sustained, etc. Could they have happened while the ladies were climbing all over him trying to save him? Fingernails/rough handling/shaking him?

But he didn't walk anymore right? (not arguing, truly trying to get the facts straight.) It seems like Karen dropped him off, and he was fumbling to use his phone, but he never took more steps. I wonder if he laid there dying/injured trying to text for help? It's awful to think about.

I think if they had charged her with vehicular manslaughter or a lesser charge she would have been convicted already. They got greedy when they went for the second degree murder charge.

However, I still don't trust the Boston Police as a unit, those dudes were definitely hiding SOMETHING when they destroyed their phones. And the main thing that still doesn't add up to me still are the injuries on his arm.

I didn't watch the first trial closely, just watched the documentary on Max. I feel that the defense has made it pretty clear that Jen McCabe did not google "hos long to die in cold" at 2:30AM now. I also feel it's pretty clear that John stopped moving before he got into the house.

The prosecution has got to put forth a better theory of the injuries this time, for sure. Those marks on the arm are the main thing that doesn't add up to me.

She's doing a very good job so far. No fireworks yet IMO. I am behind on the livestream though.

Yeah I try not to be judgmental, but they appear to party like 20 year olds in their 40s.

Agreed and the documentary was pretty one sided. I do think there is valid reason not to trust the Boston police in this case. But I feel she killed him and can’t remember it.

I never followed the first trial, just watched the Max documentary. Now I’ve been keeping the re trial on in the background while I work, when I can. When I can’t I check this page for quick updates! www.courttv.com/tag/karen-re...

After the first trial I definitely thought she was framed. As it stands right now she seems guilty to me. The prosecution has made a more compelling case, IMO. However, I still don't trust the cops in the house that night, and I need to have a better theory of the scratches on his arm presented.

I feel like a big spectacle outside the courtroom, for any murder trial, is bad for the justice system in general. It reminds me of people coming to the public square to watch people beheaded by the guillotine. Gruesome.

I've caught most of Day 5 testimony and IMO it's looking pretty bad for Karen.

Brennan is being a real jerk, no wonder they kicked the jury out. How do you think Day 5 went overall? I'm not caught up completely but working on it.

thinking the same thing!! maybe we should ask the editor of the atlantic if he saw any of these texts.

I don't get why Brennan is berating Wolfe. What is the point?? (watching now, catching up)

today's my day off so I'll cover for us ;) I am still in the middle of the cell phone expert cross-examination, which I feel is not going well. do you know, did they cover all of this cell phone data of John's at the first trial?

To me it’s pretty riveting. I think he’s proven that Jen never googled “hos long to die in cold” at 2:30 am. And now he’s proving John never really went inside the house and stopped walking around 12:30 AM
