Write to the headquarters of all your banks and strongly request that they maintain and honor FDIC coverage of your deposits. Notify them of this. The last thing banks are going to want is a run, with consumers pulling out money. Get them to push back. (And consider opening a Canadian account.)

True, and terrifying. In the early 2000s, I taught college students who wouldn't or couldn't keep their attention on the whole article or book (and complained that I would expect them to), with awful writing as well. I was teaching sometimes at what had been my 9th grade level. It's much worse now.
