Here's the last shot I want to share with you all of the Red-Pored bolete I found last year. We decided to cut it open, knowing it bruised blue, and got a lovely display of its color change, which I thought looked really cool against its deep red pores 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌿🌱 🟢 🍄 🍄‍🟫 📷 🔴🔵

I loved the way this beautiful chocolate tube slime mold, which I believe is Stemonitis splendens, was displayed. The combination of brown from the wood and chocolate tubes and the bokehd greens of plants in the background stood out nicely 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌿🌱 🟢 🍄 📷 🍄‍🟫

A pair of beautiful, pale blue Mycena amicta grow from a bed of moss on top of a decaying old tree 🔵👻 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌿🌱 🟢 🍄 📷 🍄‍🟫

Totally unsure of what this is, but it appeared to me to be too big to be a slime mold, but it was very, very small. This little mushroom grew out of the top of a quite dead and blackened Russula. There were multiple, unevenly spaced about an inch apart. iNaturalist is also confused! 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌿🌱 🟢 🍄‍🟫 🍄

This is possibly one of the largest lobster mushrooms I've found! It has a super bulbous base and a really large, flat cap. Even just picking this thing up, you can tell it weighed more than your average lobster. I also just love the neon orange on these beauties 🟠 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌱🌿 🟢 🍄 📷 🍄‍🟫

Two bright orange blobs of the Wolf's Milk slime mold share a spot on some decaying wood. I personally love orange and green color combinations, so I was really happy with the way this stack came out 🟠🟢 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌱🌿 🟢 📷 🍄 🍄‍🟫

The gorgeous Gliophorus psittacinus, AKA parrot mushroom. Here's it is in its default color pallette of green and yellow. A decent rain prior to taking this shot gave it a beautiful reflective element 🟢🟡 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌿🌱 🟢 🍄 📷 🍄‍🟫

This crazy neon orange crust fungus really needed a close-up to properly appreciate. Every time I look at this shot, I notice something slightly different. My favorite part is the fly on the left side that seems to have been taken over by a mold or the fungus (click and zoom in!) 🍄📷 📸🎞 🟠 🍄‍🟫 🍄 📷

I figured I'd share what this incredible bolete's pores look like since it's one of my favorite things about this beautiful mushroom. Red-pored bolete is an apt name for this, isn't it? Maybe they're more of a dark pink, but regardless, that color is mesmerizing, in my opinion! 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌿🌱 🟢 🍄 📷 🍄‍🟫

I think this is one of the coolest mushroom finds for me in recent years. In all of my time hunting for mushrooms to photograph, I've only seen one now. This is the Red-Pored Bolete, Rubroboletus pulcherrimus, I'm pretty sure. There are other similar species, but these grow in the PNW 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌿🌱 🟢 🍄‍🟫 🍄

This is a lobster mushroom! 🦞🍄 This orange mushroom is very odd and a bit misleading, too. This is actually Hypomyces lactifluorum, a parasitic mold that has taken over a massive Russula mushroom. The coolest part is that not only does it have a lobster color, but it tastes similar, too! 🍄📷 📸🎞 🍄‍🟫 🌿🌱

Surrounded by a forest of moss, this delicate blue mushroom was an easy choice to photograph. In the Pacific Northwest, it seems this is almost definitely Mycena amicta. I had a moment where I thought I might have been misidentifying this, but I'm still very positive it's the right ID 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌿🌱 🟢 🔵 🍄

There's a whole lotta slime mold in this shot! Fuligo septica, perhaps? I didn't get to see it change to its final state, so I'm not sure, but I find a lot of dog vomit slime mold around here, so that's my best guess 🐕🤮 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌿🌱 🟢 🍄‍🟫 🍄 📷

The colors of the sunrise are present in this unique parrot mushroom! There are so many Gliophorus species that it's hard for me to confidently say which one it is (psittacinus? Something else?), but either way, and most importantly, I know it's a super pretty mushroom! 🌅 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌿🌱 🟢 🍄 📸 🍄‍🟫

I believe this scaly dude is the greenfoot fibercap, Inosperma calamistratum. They seem to be found often where I live, and while it's a bit hard to tell, it does have a green "foot," which leads me to believe this is the right ID 🟢🦶🏼 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌿🌱 🟢 🍄‍🟫 🍄 📷

A huge bushel (not sure what else to call it?) of yellow-tipped coral stands out among the mossy ground in an old forest in Northern California. I believe this is Ramaria formosa, based on where it was found and its unique characteristics 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌿🌱 🟢 🍄 📷 🍄‍🟫

Auriscalpium vulgare, the cone tooth fungus, is a top 10 favorite mushroom of mine. Its spikey teeth instead of gills and its fuzzy cap and stipe are so fun to look at up-close. Plus, they grow out of fir cones, which makes picking them up and examining them so easy! 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌿🌱 🟢 🍄 📷 🍄‍🟫

Amanita augusta, the Yellow-veiled Amanita, is common in the woods around my home. I used to always wish I could see these, so I feel lucky to have them so close by nowadays. This one was particularly yellow! 🟡 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌿🌱 🟢 🍄‍🟫 🍄 📷

Two parrot mushroom friends grow together out of the ground near decaying Western Red Cedar wood. I really liked the way these two grew towards each other, almost creating a circle. Plus, the colors on the one on the right are so perfect! 🟡🟢 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌿🌱 🟢 🍄 🍄‍🟫 📷

A huge shelf fungus consumes a plant growing near it. Both the plant and the fungi grow very slowly, but I guess the mushroom was faster! 🍄📷 📸🎞 🌿🌱 🟢 🍄‍🟫 🍄 📷
