Folks are asking, “what should I do in this moment?” One of the most passionate, progressive voices in Congress for 30 years, Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden answers that question. Here’s our conversation, inside a replica of the Senate chamber at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute: youtu.be/n_nQ-Moa9fI?...

In a world where you can be anything, be kind.. 😊

So. It has officially happened. I have been officially let go from my position at CDC. I wasn’t a probationary employee. I had stellar performance reviews every year. I’ll be ok. But please understand that many worked HARD to get into these positions and were doing great public health work.

Medicaid is not for sale. NASA is not for sale. The Post Office is not for sale. America is not for sale. We have an obligation to resist kings. We outnumber them. And they can be overwhelmed.

Must not have ever seen a govt contract… Or any other well-crafted contract. They come with Milestones, evidences, and KPIs. No proof, no payment. ~ Best regards, Former PM and Program Manager 13+ years on Federal contracts

For those unfamiliar, Paul Clement probably has more credibility with the conservative wing of the Supreme Court than *any other litigator alive.*

Why America should be on Ukraine's side and not Putin's side, explained in 8 minutes: youtu.be/ZNDHDW6OjII?... via @YouTube

Hear me out. What if the end game is for Musk and Trump to rob the USA blind, dismantle all its protection, then just one day leave the chaos behind, disappear to safer haunts, and let our adversaries do what they will. What if that’s the goal?

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is not a dictator. He is a champion of democracy, freedom and truth.

President Zelenskyy has been one of the greatest leaders of our time, guiding Ukraine through the darkest period of its recent history, rising up to Russia’s unwarranted aggression, being an inspiration to the Ukrainian people and ensuring that Ukraine’s voice is heard on the world stage.

Thorough, written with the care & clarity truthfulness deserves, a reminder that faithfulness to truth is a choice we make. Heidegger, attributed with remarking, “we are born many people, we die one person”, might have said these 👇🏻, the steps to that one person. Bravo 👇🏻 well done.

Two Ukrainian oppositional leaders: Petro Poroshenko and Yulia Tymoshenko (both hate Zelensky and hate each other) have publicly supported Zelensky, said his term prolongation is legit until the end of the war, and said elections are impossible now. Listen to Ukrainian opposition.

DOGE recommended firing workers at: -FDA, which oversees Neuralink -FAA, which oversees SpaceX -USAID, which probed Starlink -CFPB, which oversees Tesla's financing arm and a potential payment platform on X. "Conflict of interest" is a severe understatement.

“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.” -Theodore Roosevelt

I can’t remember where I read this, but it’s important: Why is it that when people think about traveling to the past, they worry about doing something small that will drastically change the present, but no one in the present thinks that doing something small today can drastically change the future?

If you wanted to cut waste, fraud, and abuse, you would empower the inspectors general. If you wanted more waste, fraud, and abuse, you would fire them.

All my life I have studied democratization and autocratization. My 1st field trip was to newly democratic Argentina. I then added autocracies to my portfolio: Cuba, Ven, etc. I think I can recognize the stages of transition to authoritarianism. Here are the boxes Trump has already checked off.

He’s a govt contractor directing spending to his own business. Conflict of interest. But who’s gonna tell ‘im?

Imagine if the media pointed out there was already a Government Accountability Office whose job it is to go after actual waste and fraud, not just things Elon doesn’t like, and found $70 Billion in savings last year and $2 Trillion in waste since 2003. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Governm...

Oh, for pity’s sake.

Mike Pence just reposted an old article he wrote about the limitations on the powers of a president. For some reason. Here is a part of it.

As a journalist who covers extremism at the local level, I think it’s a mistake to view Trump’s Napoleonic statement as solely about presidential power. Consider if it’s interpreted as a wink and a nod for any extremist to act outside the law to “save” the country as they see fit

Great reporting ⬇️

My former law school dean, Harold Koh, used to admonish incoming law students to "Never let your skill exceed your virtue." A while back, I wrote about how lawyers, in particular, have skills they can use for good or evil. Reupping here cafe.com/notes-from-c...
