HL2s opening is so good at getting you interested, those civis in the starting area were PERFECT, each helping out so well with building up the world of HL Valve knocked it out the PARK AND MADE ME LOVE CITIZENS RAHHHHHHHH

09 being more paranoid is technically canon too because of the citizen in the train station who’s walking in circles mumbling to himself, me personally I always saw 07 as def cocky but a more on the all fun n games side while 02 especially in their rebel/refugee state is more gruff

If I’m going to push I need 3 Vorts minimum, as many tau rebels as I can push out, and like 10 medics to make sure no one gets hurt most likely more, and I also spend so much time just fortifying my bases incase of attack, I cannot let any harm befall my silly little guys….

Yeah which is why I suck on harder difficulties or against real players, I play too slow but I always get a giant force of rebels going, it’s just I suck at NOT seeing them as people and getting sad when I lose even a single one

Honestly I again REALLY just want any content that gives the rebel POV and it makes you feel like you are just a citizen, no taking on hordes of combine no if you get in a firefight you are coming out in critical condition or dead with no ammo. I want to BE the rebels not be a reskinned Gordon

It's why I think some of my favorite variants aren't the downtrodden versions but instead the refugee, rebel, and medic variants purely because it feels like they're part of a story you weren't there for, like how the refugee's have cuts from manhacks and the rebels have XEN blood on them n stuff

Oh yeah no they are just LOADED with tiny little details on them, they're so unique yet so bland they are the literal perfect john citizens, I think HLA does this a bit better but the HLA citizens are harder to characterize on their own, the HL2 civs are loaded with personality at a glance

In all seriousness again I LOVE HOW WELL YOU ADAPTED THE CITIZENS. They are all immediately recognizable and all have the little details they have in their face textures as well as you just nailed their shape and appearance to a tea, it’s peak.
