I wish I could tell the moon how much I like it

Say what you want about Kendrick but the fact that people are figuring out what “40 acres and a mule” in 2025 is why any education to black history is important, no matter no big nor small.

Texas born and raised, but often forgetting just how southern me and my family can be until something happens like my Papoo getting frustrated and saying things like; "that🪕 burns🐄 the livin'🤠 devil🐓 outta me🌾"

When that person was like “Kendrick wasn’t political!” I thought about all the reggae fans in California who stop at the “good vibes” and ignore the politics embedded in it. Repeat for so many examples of Black art; it says something where they see “politics” and where they dont. Reflect on that.

According to Reddit DoD probationary employees are being put on notice. Many DoD employees are veterans. Most veterans DO NOT get VA benefits. This is going to be one more support post kicked out from people who have given the most to this country by the people who have done the least.

American culture is rooted in stability. War and dictators are something that happens “over there.” It’s like when a violent crime happens in the suburbs. “This is a nice neighborhood.” We don’t think we can be victims of bad things.

I so wish Chloe x Halle would come back together. Both SO talented & their solo careers have been cute but I miss the beautiful blend of their vocals 😩

If you ever wonder what you would have done during the horrors, atrocities, and oppressions we learn from in history, you’re doing it right now.

People don’t give themselves enough credit for overcoming things & getting better, remember that you have made it this far, celebrate your strength 🫶🏽✨

Morning sickness 🙅🏽‍♀️ Sick of mornings 🙋🏽‍♀️

Lead by example. Don't be lead by money *coughcough* snoop

When a society faces a fundamental threat like the establishment of a dictatorship, you must be emotionally prepared for the unbothered detachment of those who you firmly believed would be standing next to you. To win, you need to survive, and that's all about endurance.

Only two movies have the power to make me blush & giggle years after first seeing it, fully knowing what's about to happen - 1. 1997 Cinderella 🩵 2. 2005 Pride & Prejudice 💚

Young me was OBSESSED over the Brandy Cinderella ballroom gowns. 💜 Old me STILL obsesses over the Brandy Cinderella ballroom gowns. 💙

If anyone has it in their hearts so help donate to my little brothers funeral fund, it would be greatly appreciated gofund.me/5bb51f25

Dismantling DEI while also complaining about Kendrick’s show being all Black is…🤡

My husband showed me Fight Club for the first time expecting me to be impressed by a plot twist, not realizing my brain would immediately go back and over-analyze then spend half an hour seeing if my theory that it's a critique of the Patriarchy & toxic masculinity was spot on. I believe it was.

the 'military spouse' badge is not my personality trait, but as the wife of an Active Duty service member, this is so tacky. Part of freedoms in America is protest/speech. don't talk on honoring troops when you're sending them to war so you feel tough, draft dodger. www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/...

Kendrick Lamar won the Pulitzer for his work. I say this so maybe, maybe people will grok that when you put a decorated artist of that caliber on the stage, the performance is going to have a backbone to it that, like other Pulitzer decorated art, requires thought, engagement, and serious analysis.

"The halftime show was boring." Look, you may not be familiar with the genius of Kendrick Lamar and couldn't quite hear the lyrics and don't know the backstory and the symbolism went over your head, but trust me when I say you'll want to read an analysis of it and rewatch. A true masterpiece.

We the people are not powerless. They want you to think we are. But we have great power. Each and every day do at least one thing to claim & exercise your power. When you do, you’ll feel you’re in control again. Your actions matter. Make a call. Serve your community. Boycott. Use your power!

I’ll be deadnaming the hell out of the Gulf of Mexico.

Kendrick Lamar has 22 Grammies and a damn Pulitzer if you don’t know who he is that’s a You problem

It was Serena Williams dancing to a diss track about her ex for meeee #halftimeshow #kendricklamar #serenawilliams #theynotlikeus #superbowl #eagles

Sharing some Lyla, because why not?

Sorry for ranting but I am here because my Jewish family barely escaped Auschwitz, I am here because my Mexican grandma worked her ass off to fight for my mother's citizenship. Fuck, I'm ALIVE today because we have fought & continue to fight for happiness, comfort, equality & love for one another.
