I think the way the far right keeps inventing new, bizarrely contorted meanings for absolutely plain language is bad. Sorry for the spicy take, but it’s bad.

Remember that several people asked Pam Bondi during confirmation SPECIFICALLY what she would do on matters pertaining to Qatar (which she did not disclose) or GEO (pertinent to the Baraka arrest). She said she'd consult top career lawyer at DOJ abt recusal. Then she fired that lawyer.

The fact that the attorney general's last job before this one was lobbying for the Qataris is a little on the nose.

TELSEY begins tracking price increases over the past week. Some highlights: * Abercrombie jeans: up 33% * Amazon Echo: up 38.5% * Target / Barbie doll: up 42.9%

Please highlight this story. ICE stormed into the wrong house, trashed the place, and made women/girls stand outside in the rain in their underwear. ICE also stole phones, laptops, and cash savings from the family, who moved to OKC two weeks ago. kfor.com/news/local/w...

In addition to giving the contract to himself and so stealing public money the very concept of this thing is a crazy level boondoggle www.reuters.com/business/aer...

Seems like removing Hegseth would be an easier solution

The New York Times declares dignity, professionalism, and courage in law firms “nearly impossible.” I suggest this framing exposes more about legacy media’s own problems than it does about the legal profession.

Sen. Van Hollen: "I don't think it's ever wrong to fight for the constitutional rights of one person because if we give up on one person's rights, we threaten everybody's rights...Anyone who is not prepared to stand up and fight for the Constitution doesn't deserve to lead."

Fun Tariff Facts: during the depression the US lost access to many imported paper products. They were replaced with an unusually tough paper stock made of hemp from the Philippines (then a US colony, and tariff exempt). Anyway, that’s why they were, and still are, called Manila folders / envelopes.

Q: "How do you respond to Governor Newsom?" Sen. Van Hollen: "I think Americans are tired of elected officials or politicians who are all finger to the wind...Anybody who can't stand up for the Constitution and the right of due process doesn't deserve to lead."

Trump’s next step is to blame the market crashing on his critics’ negativity, and to use that as an excuse to further silence media and other criticism.

This is a very big deal. Trump is systematically dismantling the protections against foreign (e.g. Russian) interference in our elections.

funny how Jeff Bezos pivoted to " We are going to be writing every day in support and defense of two pillars: personal liberties and free markets" thinking that would be obviously pro-trump

They're eating the 401ks! They're eating the Social Security! They're eating the retirements of the people who live here!

It should be noted that markets have underreacted to the tariffs. A 30–50% sales tax (aka tariffs), will wipe out entire industries. The -7% drop this week doesn’t reflect the full damage. It’s an optimistic move assuming the tariffs won’t stick. The impact, if enforced, would be far more severe.

The first and most important thing to know about last night's Exec order is that it's intended to break current law and allow people throughout the federal gov look at yr tax returns. Beyond that it's intended to compel states to turn over all their data to the fed govt.

The thing about Trump’s team is that we learn how many morally bankrupt, marginally intelligent, men of utterly average substance have walked among us, seemingly successful, running money-making firms, CEOs and venture capitalists - even the richest man in the world. They have been unmasked.

Did you know that GOP budget resolution shockingly eliminates “$40 million in election security grant funding.” Why would Republicans want the 2026 election less secure? We know. It's so that Trump, Musk and anyone else on their side can rig the election. This is happening right in front of our eyes

Stop pretending that the authoritarian repression is BECAUSE of the problems in {higher education, the media, the law, government, immigration policy, etc.}. This is what authoritarians do. If they didn't focus on these justifications, they'd come up with other ones.

All voters look for showmanship, guts, and a sense that this candidate is fighting for YOU. I’m not sure why some Dem politicians think “we find acceptable middle ground with feudalists” is a better pitch

Alina Habba on veterans who have been fired from government jobs: "Perhaps they're not fit to have a job at this moment."

Ireland moved on Tuesday to remove a law that prevents the deployment of its troops without U.N. approval, with Prime Minister Micheal Martin saying he did not want Russia, China or the United States having a veto on deployments.

People assume Andrew Cuomo is tough and A Fighter because he always looks angry and acts weird. Mistaking a total lack of emotional self-regulation and wild, self-destructive spite for Masculine Strength is one of the defining political errors to me. No one even tries to keep it together anymore.

Regretting your vote? To change your voter registration from Republican to Democrat, check your state’s deadline, visit your state’s election website, fill out a new voter registration form selecting “Democratic Party,” submit it online, by mail, or in person, and wait for confirmation.

Anybody know any pro-Ukraine protests in NYC for Sunday, Mar 2? #ukraine #trump #nyc

Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) is the subject of an investigation into the alleged assault of a 27-year old woman in Washington, D.C. on February 19. The alleged victim is not his wife. “…the initial victims' police report described a phone call where officers could hear Mills instructing the victim to…

All this time the tax protestors and freemen were right

The greater fool shortage is arriving, the clamor for a US taxpayer Bitcoin bailout is rising

When the FBI searched Jan. 6 defendant Jeremy Brown's home, they discovered illegal grenades, a sawed-off shotgun and classified information he retained after leaving the army. Today, DOJ says Donald Trump's pardon for J6 issues covers all of that.

Just catching up on this: "After a judge blocked a Trump exec order, Elon Musk shared a post with his more than 200 million followers on X that included the judge’s daughter’s name, photo & job, allegedly at the Dept of Education." Now he's also backing calls to impeach judges that rule against him.

Why aren’t you here? Want to show the administration how you feel? Show up. Now. Lincoln Memorial. Please.
