I'm afraid daddy could have given him twice as much and he would've just put the pedal to the metal on trying to monetize even more scummy schemes.

A good part of the reason DEI came about was simply because they weren't working on a merit based system but favors, legacies, you name it.
DEI came about to bring a merit based system that would not regard other factors.

He gets these harebrained ideas, the word salad drops out of his mouth and then later he'll either say he can't imagine having said it or decide he likes the sound of whatever it is and go with it. He may retract it a day later .. Spin the bottle though, every day's a new plastering of crazy.!

Well, I've noticed he'll say something (both brain cells sleeping) and then later when he's asked about his statement and at least one of those cells is awake, he'll say he doesn't remember saying that. In fact he wouldn't say it.

This sounds about right.. and on par. It's had the overall appearance that any refugees into the US have been given tickets back into the nightmares they were hoping to get away from. Little concern or thought was used in making these decisions, mostly distaste and indifference.
