Love this. In his “I Agree” installation Dima Yarovinsky-Yahel took the content from terms of service statements for companies like Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Tinder and printed them out on A4 paper with a standard font size for legal contracts to demonstrate the length of these agreements.

This fucker should be hanging on the wall in Dorian Gray's attic not out and about interacting with normal people

... and Mehdi Hasan!

Warnock: I hear people attack poor people and act like it’s a crime to be poor, rather than to recognize it’s criminal for so many people to be poor. They do all of this in the name of Jesus… Jesus is the biggest victim of identity theft in the United States

It’s only getting much play in the trade/transport niche press. But pretty real product shortages beginning in mid-May or so are already locked in. They’re maybe a thousand miles out in the Pacific Ocean. Modern trade takes place in gargantuan container ships. There are very detailed records …

Fully on board with dems running for office promising to reinstate fired federal employees and jail this administration’s various criminals, but let’s go ahead and add “we will seize by eminent domain any national parkland sold to developers”

“subdeals”?

I dunno, man, the "you guys are being too mean to the plagiarism machines that stole all your work and were created to try to replace you so rich people don't pay you a tiny fraction of their wealth for it" posters popping up are pretty funny

I feel like I’m losing my mind with the lack of wall to wall coverage on disappearing *children with cancer* i keep saying this, but it’s not 5% of the uproar that came from Biden’s debate. “kids peeing in litter boxes”, a thing that never happened, got orders of magnitude more coverage.

For nearly 60 days, no food, fuel, medicine or other items has entered the Gaza Strip, blocked by Israel. Aid groups are running out of food to distribute. Markets are nearly bare. Palestinian families are left struggling to feed their children.

It’s perfectly possible that large language models have wonderful use cases, but specific examples of them seem unusually elusive, whereas unbuttressed assertions that the use cases are clear or obvious from people who refuse to answer any follow up questions are rather thick on the ground.

Animating too much absolutely sensible outrage at Trumpism is an appeal to parental figures who aren’t there. “He should not be allowed”; “He should be arrested”; “This can’t be permitted.” Passive voice, all of which begs, “by whom?” It’s an appeal to an order that has already broken.

The worst thing about living in this country is the tens of millions of people who would rather be governed by these despicable rapist morons than let other people be free.

Moreover he’s actually barred from holding the office of president this term by the unequivocal language of the 14th Amendment.

The default Dem position should be that nothing under Trump is valid. Trump didn't honor his predecessors' agreements. He didn't even honor his own trade agreements. He didn't honor Congressional appropriations. He doesn't follow laws. Clean slate. If you rely on him, your loss.

the way AI losers dance around saying "you have to go back and manually check its work because it will lie to you" is so funny because they know they can't say that. so it's "a piece of information" with "failure nodes". sure man

Feel like those articles debating how much money DOGE did or didn’t save need to also factor in how many people will unnecessarily die because of their reckless cutbacks on lifesaving programs.

the Soviets sort of put all the burnt corpse DNA they could find outside the Hitler bunker into a blender (including the dog's) and out popped Stephen Miller

Breaking: Reacting to Blowback from Deporting Two Year Old U.S. Citizen, the Trump Administration Insists That a Playset Be Erected in the Exercise Yard of the CECOT Salvadoran Slave Labor Prison.

I didn't think people needed to be reminded that having Donald Trump as president fucking sucks. But nonetheless.

you wanna talk about waste and fraud? trump went all the way to rome just to take a nap

we will never let you edit posts. you must wear each typo as an albatross. you will bear the weight of your hubris

Wikipedia never forced itself into every program, app, and browser I use. It never plagiarized my books. The scale of environmental damage caused by AI computing power is a global threat. AI is corporate-controlled, which is why Wikipedia & every other quasi-public source of info - is under threat.

If deporting US citizen children with cancer isn’t your redline, it’s time to reassess your priorities.

america rn

There's a pattern in this administration -- stretching back to Trump's complaint that the problem with COVID was that we were testing to see who actually had it -- in which they think if we don't pay attention, it's not happening. The Lack of Object Permanence Presidency

On the other hand, pro-AI people talk about it like they’re trying to unload a shitty used car. “Does it always work right? Absolutely not! Do you need to take extra annoying steps to receive worse results? Of course! But that’s the real beauty of it…”

The fact of the matter is that the American conservative movement has backed a president now harassing students and destroying academic work on ideological grounds. This entire debate should be suspended until the conservative movement repudiates him. There is nothing to discuss until then.

They are taking away our vaccines. Jay Bhattacharya is talking about eliminating mRNA vaccines. Meanwhile, RFK Jr. has managed to ratfuck the Novavax approval process.

love reading a 12 year old girl in 1911 write a mech pilot tweet in her diary abt the experience of driving an automobile

happy lesbian visibility week, gang :) #ScoobyDoo

Fascism is a lot of things, but at heart it's the political application of being a dumb asshole

If you’re attending the White House Correspondents Association dinner tonight, be sure to come prepared with a joke about the toddler cancer patient they just disappeared despite her being a citizen. Otherwise it’s going to be awkward when you’re mugging for photos with Stephen Miller.

This sentence can’t get any more evil. This is the most evil sentence ever.

The key difference here is that Walz believes that Democrats should run on challenging oligarchy but without using that specific term, while Slotkin believes that the Democrats shouldn't run on challenging oligarchy.

If you think fertilized eggs have rights but 2-year-old US citizens with cancer don’t, stop pretending your concerns are “the children.”

i genuinely want to know what the hell is wrong with this guy. he is a total monster and i am a little interested in how he got to be this way.

One of the wilder political things in recent history is that Project 2025 publicly released a 900 page document laying out their plans to roll back 100 years of human progress and then during the campaign Republicans just said "no we're not :)" and then they won and now they're doing it all.

When it comes to people with autism, particularly children, RFK Jr wants to make it easier for parents and quack doctors to "experiment" and force dangerous and unproven treatments on them. And he wants to make it harder or outright illegal to counter disinformation that harms this industry.
