with key work docs I was gonna say "not propietary/confidential", but there's a very real possibility federal employees in the US have a professional record keeping duty to preserve records from attacks from the top of the US government.

I am not a Ken White. I am not your Ken White. This is not Ken White advice. But me I'd make copies of key work documents, plus any performance reviews etc, to safe offsite backup, print out, w/e, and I'd contact an employment lawyer about prepping for wrongful dismissal.

Yes! The thing to learn from this question is that not enough people have read Iain M Banks.

Those are good things. This very good thread from Jelena Woehr is to Americans but spoke to me. bsky.app/profile/jele... I'm also thinking shoring up Australian democracy will be needful soon, and getting our leaders to push back. Calling reps, volunteering for the AEC or your fave party?

By your own info, if Thomas is the first trans woman to win at that level, then they simply aren't dominating. In fact, trans women are underperforming on the numbers, and that's fine. (btw. I appreciate that you backed off your nasty misgendering at the top of the thread. Thank you).

Kentucky passed a trans sports law that affects literally one student in the state. You are dissociating if you think DEI overreach is what causes this sort of hysteria. www.wlky.com/article/kent...

Trying to imagine the incandescent rage TCW and his ilk would go into if a single government employee was fired for, say not having pronouns in their email signature, and noting how thousands of government employees being illegally fired for no reason at all is being met with a shrug.

Looks like a paper for the upcoming conference April 26-May 1. I see from the link papers were submitted last September and notified in Jan? Someone more familiar with this conference or conferences generally could tell more.

At the cost of me being that guy - Like Twitter, this isn't a person or community rethinking their own identity on a journey of growth and discovery and healing, and asking the rest of us for basic support. This is the old story of money and power forcing a rebrand. For their ego.

And - their next stop is a la Russia, Hungary, Turkey. They explicitly think these are the best way to be as a country, and what "democracy" should be. If you want your USA back, like they told you it was in school, get supporting @marcelias.bsky.social's team and folks like that. Get fighting.

Susan is right. Why would I think the military would defy a president? Cos I retain some small hope they remember their oaths.

Ahh I misread. That 'require alt text' setting is a good un.

Thank you so much for this. Hi @whstancil.bsky.social it would be very cool if you added alt text to your post. <3 You could cut/paste from your original doc or even from @wildlee.bsky.social 's reply if the original isn't handy.

and once you make it _possible_ to do open corruption and authoritarianism with no negative consequences in the mainstream, it quickly becomes essential to do in order to stay relevant in conservative and MAGA spaces.

so many of their complaints about it are just complaints about how corporate training seminars work, too. Every training I ever had in several workplaces from induction to filing to fraud control had the same structure and the same problems they rail against in DEI stuff.
