So all the GOP reps who said they wouldn't have voted for it if they knew xyz... was in the bill are going to vote against it now, right?? 🙄

True, but at least just what the media reported, so though it would be odd if he didn't know, it's not important for him to know as POTUS. Dead US soldiers, leaking secure information, and federal investigations into the companies of Trump's "co-president" are things a POTUS should definitely know.

"I am sure we're going to find out about his ties to groups overseas" just as soon as the Trump administration can manufacture them.

3 things Trump claimed he first heard of when asked by reporter: -investigations into Musk's companies -SignalGate -US soldiers in Lithuania missing-found dead If true, I found out about all 3 before POTUS did & he's incompetent. If not, he chose lying & looking incompetent just to avoid answering.

I don't think you can expect warmth from someone who calls his children his "legion."

I think we all pretty much thought that. Just good to hear Elon say it. www.yahoo.com/news/fox-new...

Republicans over the past few years have somehow managed to get me invested in these public, juvenile squabbles. I'm not rooting for either side - just maximum damage. If the MAGA base is completely immune to logic & decency, maybe they can reduce their numbers or intensity with internal feuding.

Not only that, he seems to be surprised that not everyone's as petty & vengeful as he is. Biden didn't go after those who disagreed with him politically & he didn't wrest budgetary control from Congress. Because he's a grown-up, not a toddler throwing a tantrum demanding everyone act subservient.

With the drastic shift to far-right wing media in the WH, Fox News is about as far "left" as they're willing to go.

And insisted that European countries and companies get rid of any DEI policies if they want to do business with the US.

It takes a lot of gall for someone who dines with Kanye and Fuentes to accuse those who oppose the bombing and starvation of Palestinians of turning a blind eye to antisemitism.

The ACA was not passed by reconciliation. It passed 60-39 in the Senate. And the Senate votes on the rules each term and could have changed them to also vote on the Voting Rights Act.

Seems like Grok programmers were probably gearing up for this meeting when they made it go insane.

South Africa has a high murder rate, though the killing of farmers seems to be a very minute part of that. In 2024 there were 26,232 murders. A total of 8 were farmers - the government doesn't release data on whether they were white or Black. I doubt that 8 qualifies for genocide anywhere.

As a clumsy person who's walked into many walls, tripped over things, etc., I don't think this says much about his lack of ability to manage our nation. Now every time he opens his mouth or posts something, he demonstrates his inability to handle the job - intellectually, ethically or emotionally.

The poster said that they are using reconciliation to get around the filibuster and asked why Democrats didn't use that tactic more. Democrats wanted to use it to pass a voting rights bill, as well as a couple of others, but Manchin and Sinema voted against it.
comment in response to post
If I was wrong, I would have no problem doing so. The poster specifically talked about a Republican Senator using the filibuster to block legislation. The House doesn't even have a filibuster, so even without the specific McConnell mention, it was obviously about a Senate tactic.
comment in response to post
It will have to go through the Senate as well and poster asked about McConnell style filibusters.

You run as a Republican or Democrat & your policies reflect that, but once elected at any level, you're supposed to support ALL your constituents. To openly say you DON'T want to help some is appalling. Like when he said he wouldn't give COVID or FEMA support unless governors were more appreciative.
comment in response to post
One of the most exasperating things about Trump is the frequency and audacity of his statements and actions. This is a STUNNING statement, yet it will barely be covered. The US President just said he doesn't want to help over half the US population because they live in states with Dem governors.

This is what they did with the 2020 election and the Jan 6th riot. Throw out a myriad of theories with no evidence. As soon as one's proven false, don't admit it, but bring i[ all the others as why it's irrelevant anyway. Repeat with next piece of "evidence."
comment in response to post
I wish he'ld have taken it one step further when she kept trying to point to other "evidence" and asked "if the President repeatedly & wrongly insisted that the MS13 on his knuckles were real as justification for his deportation, why should we believe their other "evidence" without investigation?"
comment in response to post
This one phrase is frightening "which I'm instructed to accept as real."

And we already had a trade surplus with the UK.

Don't worry about descending into fascism, disregarding the Constitution, losing all our global influence, destroying the economy, dismantling our health agencies, politicizing the press & education, weaponizing the justice system, deporting 4 year old citizens with cancer. Focus on bathroom signs.

When the President threatens to annex Canada/Greenland/Panama, insists the MS13 tattoo & a sharpie mark on a hurricane map are real, scolds Zelensky for starting the war, bans press for using Gulf of Mexico, says he doesn't know if he has to uphold the Constitution...then sarcasm is hard.

Trump will clap when the attempted revolution fails and tell them that they should have been satisfied with 3 dolls instead of 30.
comment in response to post
I hope the media point out that Trump's reasoning was we needed tariffs because other countries were "ripping us off," and used trade deficits as proof. Well, he finally got 1 country - the UK, to make a deal. We had a trade SURPLUS with them, so according to Trump, we were taking advantage of them.
comment in response to post
Gee, I wonder why he's not going with "Adults don't need to have a shiny new car. I think they can find a 1998 Hyundai that still runs."
comment in response to post
And now, apparently they are up to 1 deal! I'm sure it will bring the US trillions of dollars and will be the best trade deal that's ever been made in the history of the world.
comment in response to post
Gee, and I thought he already made over 200 trade deals. 🙄 Seems like this shouldn't be that big a deal.

I remember this from his first administration and thought we had pretty much sunk as far as we could go. Sadly, I had way too much faith in our country. www.independent.co.uk/news/world/a...

One of my biggest pet peeves is when the media says Trump or one of his cronies is wrong/mistaken/misspoke/doesn't understand, etc., instead of just saying they're lying.
comment in response to post
Yes, in January of 2024 he took credit for the strong stock market saying it was doing so well because people thought he would be President again in a year. But when, 2 months into his Presidency, the stock market suddenly plummets after his economic announcement, it's Biden's fault.

But I didn't see Democrats throwing their full support behind Bob Menendez or Eric Adams. What makes him think Democrats would want someone who ALREADY has such credibility & political liabilities? I mean name recognition counts for a lot in politics, but really??
comment in response to post
I don't understand politicians like this. Do they have a humiliation kink? If I was a national joke, I'd avoid the spotlight. Especially Democrats. I think the GOP today tends to defend their politicians against any accusations, whether by claiming it's fake, just political, unimportant, etc.

Maybe you missed this part where he said that the letters aren't there when he's in El Salvador.
comment in response to post
He said several times that the letters were photoshopped. He said he was photographed in El Salvador & they aren't there. When Trump says "But they're there now, right?" he says "No." He pushed back repeatedly & made Trump look like a total ass for insisting it's real & refusing to move on.
