The opposite, I think. The Homeric tradition developed within a larger Epic Cycle that included Memnon and his Ethiopian (not Indian) warriors and Penthesileia and her Scythian (Asian) warriors. The Trojan War was multicultural until later gatekeepers narrowed the scope to the Iliad and Odyssey.

I can see Achilles/Patroclus, Achilles/Briseis, Achilles/Diedamia, Achilles/Iphegenia, and Achilles/Penthesileia, but how would Achilles/Hector work? OTOH, some ancient shippers were all about Achilles/Medea in the afterlife so anything is possible.

Homer called Achilles swift-footed. I like the idea that his greatest strength could also be his vulnerability.

The Iliad was Part 2 of the Epic Cycle. The Odyssey was Part 7. The Aeneid was a Roman-era fanfic. There actually was an Iliad II, or “Little Iliad,” between the Aethiopis and Sack of Troy.
