I found Dr. Dobb's Toolbook of C at a good price in eBay. Somehow it managed to get published in 1986 when 8080 computers were long ago obsolete. #retro #book

It isn't an error, it checks the locations of two different labels to see if both are in the same 256-byte page. Because 6502 takes an extra cycle to jump between pages, something that we cannot afford with the strict TIA timing.

In 1995, I was young, bold, and I ported Small-C to transputer, and built an operating system with self-contained applications for development. My article points to the source code and updated transputer emulator. Enjoy it! #transputer #retro nanochess.org/bootstrappin...

I learned a lot of things from BYTE magazines. As a kid I stared a lot at BYTE covers.

I've corrected a bug in the floating point support for my transputer emulator, and added the rounding modes. Also I've added my Pascal ports of the Ray Tracer and Julia sets from a 1992 book. github.com/nanochess/tr...

Currently I only can publish my programs. I hope someday I'll be allowed to publish the schematics. I think these enclosures were imported and sold at a local store in Mexico City.

First time I see this transputer promotional video. Remember it was 1986. The Intel 386 was released one year before. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdK3...

I searched for transputer. I was surprised to see far more mentions in Bluesky than in other social networks.

I was curious about MP3 circa 1998 and searched for some music in FTP but already all had been replaced with zeroed MP3 files. Imagine downloading a MP3 file at 128kbps only to discover the file was filled with pure zeroes. 😂

It wasn't so bad. Fortunately the PCB was still in good state thanks to the mask. Someday I'll polish the metal and use a metal paint spray.

Tons of isopropilic alcohol later, and a repaired power switch (probably it was discarded in perfectly working order because of it). The case is being washed.
