Not always the case based on my experience. Then again I come from a multicultural background and I think there should be taken account cultural and class differences, if the research hasn't done that already

I've read the chapter and I can relate so much, especially the "forward thinking" aspect which affects my future plans. Sometimes I plan too much into the future without considering current realities, but I also focus too much on the present while neglecting what I truly want.

Yeah we definitely need a way to teach boundaries to autistics. Oftentimes we were raised to not have boundaries, whether it's growing up not having their boundaries respected (and projecting that to everyone else) or having their boundary-crossing behavior enabled by their caregivers.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that we get too caught up on social media, where only the most surface traits of socialization occurs. Isn't there something outside of the scope of mundane life to gather inspiration from when talking to others? Maybe it's just my autism rambling.
