#AskAnAuthor The last summer I lived with my parents, I restored an antique writing desk that I found for free. It's a symbol of my commitment to my ongoing education and my work as a writer. The habit is to sit there every day and at least try because that is my gift to myself.

#AskAnAuthor I have studied ballet for 17 years. It's what made me love poetry (breath, music, movement, rhythm, line, challenges offered by technique). The relationship of dance, especially ballet, and writing in my life kept me here in my worst times and give me purpose every day.

#AskAnAuthor #WritingCommunity Listen, I have limited energy because #momlife, k? If I need a downer, it's a nap. For writing, I have tap water for hydration, a hot beverage, usually black coffee or some kind of tea, for self love, and a deep breath of regular old air to zone in.
