Sucks to do this as I love voice acting and still will in my own projects when I get time to record, but for the sake of not overwhelming myself, this will hopefully be for the best.

So for anyone who wants to DM me for voice acting, or you have and I forgot to reply, there's your answer. I will let you all know when this changes, but for now, I won't be taking on anymore roles.

To conclude, I won't deny there are some odd basis choices in Thomas and people are welcome to change them, but at the end of the day, if a character has personality and its well done, then unless their basis has a part to play, its not worth getting worked up over.

I'm sure a lot of it was just curiosity, but it feels like to some people, a character's basis is the most important thing. To them, basis' trumps character.

I remember when I did the Easton story and on both the video and the one where I shared the music, there were several comments asking what his basis was. Now I did have a one in mind (LNER J69), but I didn't put too much thought into it. He could have been from anywhere and he would stay the same.

There are exceptions of course. The 2 big ones being Gordon and Duck. Gordon is Flying Scotsman's brother and Duck one way or another is a GWR engine. Otherwise, for most other engines, their basis contribute nothing to their personalities.

Don't get me wrong, typically if you're gonna make an engine character, you'll likely base it on a real loco from somewhere, but at the end of the day, does the basis of a character really matter that much? Does the fact that Thomas is an E2 effect his character in any way?

Never actually considered this connection, but it works pretty well.

For those who may have missed the ending, this story is free to adapt and I've provided the original script in the video description, as well as below. So if you want to do your own narrations, there it is. docs.google.com/document/d/1...
