Writers: before you sign a contract with a publisher, make sure AI isn't replacing your illustrator, your translator, your editor, your jacket designer. Readers: if you're thinking of buying a book, do the same. Refuse. Resist. If AI garbage doesn't sell, people will stop making it.

In general, I’d say there should be more scrutiny around “public safety” spending for not only being an extremely large part of the public budget but also for encouraging practices like these which erode people’s privacy rights commercially as well.

The critical part to remember is this:
These people do not define pornography the way you do: they mean LGBTQ+ representation, they mean sex ed, they mean Netflix, they mean literature, they mean video games, they mean healthcare, they mean political speech.

They even canceled the paris review's grant money even though they were invented by the CIA as an op to infiltrate the arts. They're going to have to dip into their offshore $9 million. We're all hurting around here.

Anti-ICE efforts in the streets will help waste their time and budget and anti-ICE stories in the news will help make it harder for them to secure additional funding. Politicians should get be getting clubbed over the head with questions about whether they're going to fund the gestapo.
