They don't understand that they're knocking out the very pillars that support them, because they've always assumed that support comes from the foundational bedrock, not a constructed foundation. They believe the conditions that support them are natural law. (2/2)

I think they're trapped in tautology thinking: "I'm great because I'm rich, and I'm rich because I'm great." "America will always have the biggest economy because America has had the biggest economy my entire life." (1/2)

The confusion in response to your original post, btw, is that when someone talks about the 1993 plastic skeleton chariot, it was this one:

Agreed! As far as I'm concerned, no one's ever matched the '93 skeleton horsemen:

No problem! '93 was before WHFB 4e introduced army books, even. The 4e Undead book was everything undead, and the Vampire Counts / Tomb Kings split didn't happen until the VC book came out in late 5e, 1999. Tomb Kings had to make due with a WD list until 6e.

The horse sprues were released with the original Skeleton Horde plastic box in 1993, with skeleton warriors, skeleton horsemen, and a much different chariot. The Tomb Kings chariot and crew sprue were released in 2003 with the initial release wave of the first Tomb Kings army book in 6th edition.

Because a lot of people thought "reality" TV was actual reality and unscripted. They didn't understand that having Trump play the big businessman gameshow judge was a punchline.

That's not a sliver of soul, that's just lingering muscle memory from when he lived up McCain's ass instead of Trump's.

No Democrat votes on a budget plan or debt ceiling increase without an agreement to cease unlawful activities. It's that simple. Dig in and resist. Better this nation loses our credit rating than our democracy.

psssst...hey, Japan...all you have to do is compile a list of things you already do for the USA, then offer them to him one by one. (I'd suggest starting with an offer to host US military bases in the cities that already have them.)

Interesting that Murdoch's paper was behind this. Do you think the Old Money (from way back to the late 20th cen.) disapprove of swinging sledgehammers so close to the beating heart of the US economy?

That tweet actually translates to, "So, like, I'm the type of person who'd, like, flunk an assignment, but my bro is, like, the guy who could actually PASS."

Someone find a 20 year old press intern, dress them up stupidly, and test that.

I didn't expect an article about fan fiction I read as a college student 30 years ago, but I'm glad it happened. I also appreciate the link to Joseph Palmer's fiction page!

"DEI" is also the Fox News Magic Word for this season. Like "Critical Race Theory", "Antifa", and "Benghazi" before it, it's the new Pavlovian bell to summon the boogeyman into the heads of those in the right-wing bubble right now.

We need the BlueSky version of Facebook and Instagram. The deshittification of the internet must continue.

I was just thinking that we need an investigative reporter to write the equivalent of a wellness check on the DNC leadership, just so we can know they're actually still alive. I get they were reeling from the election results, but it's been 3 months. Time to...you know...actively participate?
