The Tennessee Court of Appeals ruled unanimously that the Choose How You Move transit plan crafted by Mayor Freddie O’Connell and overwhelmingly approved by voters last November, is legal and can proceed – though using surcharge funds to purchase land for housing and parks will not be permitted.

A proposed bill that would allow school districts to charge tuition for or deny public education to undocumented children may be put on hold until next year as funding questions loom. If delayed, it could be put back on the House calendar with no additional vote needed from the Senate.
