One mother I talked to got a call from a private number. She told me an unidentified chaplain from Trousdale said her son had died but it took a while to call because "we didn't know who he belonged to." Then he asked if he could call her back and never did. nashvillebanner.com/2025/04/17/t...

I recognize that the construction of the question — "Is Music Row ready for a Muslim artist?" — places the focus of power on the industry and not on Mo as an independent musician who has found success on his own and is not defined by those with power. I'm sorry that it came across that way.

No matter what anyone says, Mo Sabri makes country music, and he's doing it on his own terms. This should have been the emphasis. He also said explicitly that he wants to play the Grand Ole Opry, which would require the gatekeepers of Nashville's industry, shorthanded here as "Music Row," to agree.
