In today's newsletter @hotelamnesia.bsky.social writes about the different words for "without" in Japanese; curiously, there's a similar case for "with" in Serbian": "uz" means something that is added later (sugar), and "sa" is for something included (mustard, in Jörg's example).

Book update: to be honest, the games chapter is intimidating. It's always tempting to slide into the familiar textbook format, but that's not the case for us. So it's approaching from all sides and taking small bite after bite until I'm happy (but still intimidated).
