The Wolvesification of the entire league

I think it’s mostly because the old national pundits just want him to put his shoulder down and bully his way to the hoop.

I hope they can keep up the weirdness for 7 games. It’s been fun to watch.

At this point I mostly try to avoid the area between certain times because the complete lack of regard for anyone who lives in the neighborhood is pretty stunning and it’s the most dangerous place and time to be in the area. Hateful and mindless stuff.

It’s basically nonstop crime for an hour.

There is a woman who smokes on the bench outside of there who is definitely enjoying the show on a near daily basis.

Yup. It’s like a temporary international waters type area with no laws from 3-4 pm.

That’s it. They park in restricted parking, the coop parking lot, on lawns, in gardens, on bike paths sometimes…just the worst.

I don’t disagree. Let’s just say there’s a little something extra in the air at Nova

Randle is at 5.1 3pa/36 compared to 4.8 for KAT.
The big one is drive data. Randle passes on 41% of his drives and has a positive assist/to ratio (barely). KAT passed on 20% of his drives last year and had a negative ast/to ratio. It has helped unlock Jaden, too. As he’s active on the weak side.

I think it’s a lot like a western coming out in the 80s. It’s just olden times stuff. Also, I think a lot of young people are really averse to didactic entertainment and prefer pure escapism.
comment in response to

Yup. Not being a #1 pick on a max deal and with all the associated stuff really did wonders for that role. Also, being able to be physical without obviously fouling is the next big thing. KAT is clearly the better player tho and hopefully he helps eliminate Boston.

My most bomb throwy Wolves take is that Julius actually is doing/sacrificing the things that the team KAT said was doing and has been miles more willing to do the ol “fit in not fit out” work than KAT was.

I think OKC would beat the Warriors by maybe 30/game if for no other reason that they go balls to the wall and pass. The Warriors are pure smoke and mirrors on D and the second the ball goes side to side it’s over. The Wolves not doing this has been…interesting and easy kick outs are ok?

(I have no idea if this was just Finch going carrot over stick or what)

I think there is a bit different perspective from people sitting close to the bench. Julius seemed to be a popular target of Finch last night and that was just from what I saw from section 230.

It really sucks that some dumbass did that and either the whole fanbase or a large chunk of it should pay that price.

Everybody loses with racist behavior. No exceptions. We can’t have nice things when even one person acts this way. (Inserts another essay about the broad confusion of manners and politics and systemic responsibility vs individual culpability)

I hope the league either clears out an entire section where it happened or the whole stadium and then not have to have the issue reduced to individual perspective. The league’s most obvious example of anger control issues doesn’t need to be out there with a statement saying he’s not angry.

I thought they typically go with the video of players saying hate doesn’t belong here. This was a live reading….i think.

Some people have walked paths that make them better teachers than others. I’d hope that the league empties the arena in the next game if there was racist abuse against a player. The arena made an announcement about abusive fan language coming out of the half so something clearly happened.
comment in response to
post
I did. That should be the issue and the Timberwolves should have an empty arena next game if that is the case. (I’ll be cynical about his particular framing of himself as the victim after a decade plus of being a violent aggressor to his coworkers and competitors.)

(I will hand it to Draymond. He understands that half the battle is fighting it on terms you know you have an advantage with and “this is racist, actually” is much firmer ground for him than “my psychotic behavior isn’t angry and bad for my coworkers”)

In this online essay I will talk about the limits of identity politics due to their ability to be coopted for clearly cynical purposes and also for their centering of the individual experience which substitutes manners in place of politics 🧵 (1/456)
