Happy mental health nurses day to all those amazing nurses working in this field of nursing Your dedication to support people’s well-being and mental health is so important Thank you. #MHNurseday

Last week nursing staff, students and academic staff came together to say no to the proposed closure of Cardiff University School of Nursing. Not on our watch! We stand united for the future of nursing. Solidarity! ✊ #SaveNursinginCardiff @thercnwales.bsky.social

I know myself rest of council are enjoying work with you @bejoysebastian.bsky.social

happy to see that this 10 minute bill got passed to the next stage happening in March It’s really important that we have the title Nurse protected as it will impact on patient safety and the value of the nursing profession. Well done to all those involved.

Today, @dawnbutlerbrent.bsky.social introduced a Ten Minute Rule Bill in Parliament that sets out to legally protect the title "nurse". The proposal states only those registered with @newsnmc.bsky.social as a registered nurse can use the title “nurse”. Find out more ⬇️ #ProtectNurse

We're standing in solidarity with nurses, students and lecturers protesting outside Cardiff Uni today and highlighting critical concerns about the proposal to close its School of Nursing. We're calling for urgent action to protect nursing and ensure a sustainable future for the profession in Wales.

We're backing a new Bill being introduced by Dawn Butler MP which would legally protect the title of "nurse". This change would bring the UK in line with international best practices, helping protect patients. We're urging the UK government and other parties to back it. Read more.

Important update in the #ProtectNurse campaign. RCN members voted, at congress 2022, to lobby legislators and make Nurse a protected title in UK law. Until then, anyone can call themselves a nurse. The proposed bill would be significant progress. Thank you @dawnbutlerbrent.bsky.social

The changes in this Bill will provide better legal protections for nursing. We'll continue to urge MPs to get behind this campaign, ensuring our highly-skilled, safety-critical profession gets the respect it deserves: bit.ly/3WQVoiT #ProtectNurse

This is really good news. Its concerning that in the UK anyone can call themselves a nurse and offer nursing services even if they have no qualifications, have been struck off or convicted Fully support this bill

🚨NEW: On Tuesday 11th February, I will introduce a Ten Minute Rule Bill seeking to make ‘nurse’ a protected title in UK law. Pleased to have support from and build on the vital Protect Nurse campaign. #ProtectNurse Read more: www.dawnbutler.org.uk/ten_minute_r...

Patients being treated in corridors is widespread, but it must not be normalised. If you're having to deliver care in inappropriate settings, raising a concern with your employer will help protect you and your patients. Learn more: https://buff.ly/4hpgZa8

In his first blog as RCN President, @bejoysebastian.bsky.social reflects on his first month in the role and current issues facing the nursing profession. 📝 Read Bejoy's update and find resources to help you raise concerns in your workplace on our website ➡️ https://buff.ly/3PPpGyU

Today we've released a devastating report on the crisis of patients being treated in inappropriate settings in our NHS. With over 5000 testimonies from nursing staff, the report reveals how widespread this crisis has become, and how it's putting lives at risk. Read more: https://bit.ly/3WiS8wB

In their own words, nurses shine a spotlight on the appalling reality of corridor care. Nobody comes into nursing to provide substandard, unsafe and undignified care. The risk of moral injury and vicarious trauma is enormous. This must change and soon. www.rcn.org.uk/news-and-eve...

This report is must read for all involved in acute healthcare ! As emergency medicine nurse I recognise concerns raised in this report! Patients and nursing deserve better!

Next month's topic for the #NurseSky #SkyChat is Psychological Safety! Looking forward to what will be another fascinating discussion. Follow @curiousbecks.bsky.social for more information.

Newfound admiration for Nicola Ranger @thercn.bsky.social “It's no longer just about a percentage pay rise. “It's what are we doing, particularly in England, to make sure that we both retain and recruit brilliant nurses in every single sector, and that is what we're disappointed about.”

Following a debate at RCN Congress 2024, we are supporting calls for the decriminalisation of abortion. We believe abortion should always be treated as a health matter, with regulation and safe-guarding practices in place. Read more in our latest member news piece. bit.ly/3OGAH4E
